When he mentions an "unprecedented summer" in the interview, I feel that comment has been misinterpreted by some (both on here and in the wider media). Rather than suggesting that we will see genuinely world-class players come through the door, I think he is referring to the volume of work that needs to be done with having many players out of contract.
Of course it would be nice to see a few world-class players join us - surely that should go without saying. However, I think we need to manage our expectations a little. I would prefer the team to be built piece-by-piece over time rather than in a hurry.
