It would certainly be a statement of intent. What do you want him to say?
We are going to rebuild and I am confident we will be playing in Europe in 2027?
Depending with the acon to cover that and dont kno what injuries could get. Depends what the situation is with obrien if he sees him as rb for next season if is the starting rb. I do get why isnt what most fans would say. I would bring in 2 cb and keane would very much just be a squad playerNo! What is wrong with you?
But doesn’t the whole squad contribute during the week in training, etc? That does my head in. Fair enough if you’re a leader and contributing on the pitch, but there’s no room for leaders who don’t contribute on the pitch, that’s what the management and coaching team are there for. Lead through playing well not shouting, back slapping and clapping in the dressing room,
The whole squad does only if 1) you’re fit to play and 2) have the athleticism to play. He’s been a good servant, bit he’s not going to be pushing anyone to be a first team regular despite the paucity of talent in our right back position, so surely the wider squad should be there to be able to be back up and dare I say be competition for places. He just won’t be so he’s taking a place in the squad without any real hope of playing more than a handful of games. But doesn’t the whole squad contribute during the week in training, etc?
If it's the same chemistry that's had us dodging relegation for the past years then the whole lot needs disrupting.Of the, what, 15 players out of contract, I suspect we'll see a few of them staying as squad players.
Too many incoming and outgoing in one window disrupts the chemistry of things too much. It'll be a gradual rebuild, but it starts this summer.
We're yet to have our version of Lukaku being flown in on Dan's private jet have we.I’m starting to get mingebag vibes from TFG tbh.
The same word has been used by both Kinnear and Moyes now…’unprecedented’ when referring to our transfer business this summer. I’m wondering if they’re both panicking now so we’ll see more of these drip thread stories around players being extended. I hope not. I don’t mind some staying as backup for back up salaries and then bring in three or four quality first team signings.
Heard a whisper ....Dybala shhhWe're yet to have our version of Lukaku being flown in on Dan's private jet have we.
Maybe they mean unprecedented for the club….either way I hope they’re not panickingIt’s really not unprecedented either. Palace were in the same position the other year with loads of contracts expiring. Forest have turned over two new squads in two years! We signed how many new players last summer? Bollocks is it unprecedented!
I am going to wait and see - but this is 100% my fear with Moyes, Keeping old players too long - Better to get rid of them a year early than late. I know we will have to resign some players - understandable. But everything in that says - already setting low expectations“Hopefully get up the league if we can.”
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
I get the Young and Coleman thing short term, don't agree with it but I get it. However keeping the likes of them means (for me) that when/if we do make some actual money signings then the likes of Soucek are not going to wash with many fans imo, the vast majority will want someone younger, more dynamic. If Moyes is insisting on building a Dads Army then he is going to put himself under an awful lot of pressure to deliver when the new season starts. There will be a lot of "I told you so's" if he doesn't get off to an absolute flyer. Can only hope that he’s playing it all down, we have some top signings lined up and Young, Coleman etc are getting offered much reduced terms
