Remember when Moyes said he wants robust players and those who will be available -- then said he couldnt judge DCLs fitness in a short time.

Just look how 'robust' Coleman is.
Apart from the fact seamus is 1000× the leader dcl is...

He also isn't expected to be first choice and be on 6 figures a week

Coleman is doing or has done some coaching badges and will be good to have around the squad, maybe even a future manager

Seamus Coleman is one of the greatest servants Everton Football Club have ever had, he is up there with anyone we have had. We all know, and I am sure he knows, his best days are behind him. I hope that the club do not patronise him and just give him another year if he has no chance of getting a game. I would like to think Seamus would not want a sympathy vote. Talk of giving Young another year surprises me but I am hopeful that things have changed at the club and we have a proper plan for this window.

I`m not questioning whether they are Irish or not, but in terms of them learning the game and developing into players that could play at the top level, the English game produced them as footballers. When the money started coming into football in the 90`s the suits in the FAI looked after themselves rather than using the money coming into the game to develop footballers in Ireland.
That’s true. No argument from me there. Irish football deserves its current appalling state as it tolerated and, frankly, celebrated the corrupt charlatan John Delaney. Fans drank booze from his shoes at one point…

So why are we renewing both? One, maybe I can see the logic, but both? Where does he envisage them playing if not RB?
Granted both seems a bit extreme.
I'm guessing Young is versatile and Coleman is the club captain
But I'd imagine it's more a case of them being respected as senior members of the squad who'll be needed for a huge transition.
Pickford is great but a bit of a lunatic!
Tark also great but I wouldn't trust anyone who listens to that bell Rogan to lead anything.
Like I said, Moyes wanting to keep these two could be considered questionable but hardly worth worrying about, at least for me anyway.
