Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Onana was getting singled out for praise last weekend, playing for (threat of) Villa as an orthodox DM.

Dare I say @Zatara probably nodding along to that one.

Anyway, we could do with locating the next one of that ilk, if Gana doesn’t sign - and even if he does, probably.
He also said Onana will go for the same money as Caicedo and Rice..

I like him, he is a tidy player but he is a Championship player imo.

….i don’t know enough about him but telling that Rooney made him skipper for his first game as Manager at Derby when he was only 20 and he’s currently skipper at Bristol City, a team that made the play-offs. Suggests to me he’s certainly made of the right stuff.

Depending on price but id rather sign someone like that then Longstaff.
He is a regular with Ireland too so we'd have lads in his ear if interest is genuine

Yeah. It hasn't been formally offered to him, but he obviously expects one. I suspect, seeing as he did Ben Foster's podcast after, that he was told the offer would be on reduced terms. Which will be why he spouted off. The fact we're even in discussions over it bugs me. Thanks for your efforts, of you go as far as I'm concerned.
If he was going to get offered one he would have done by now, unless Moyes gets nothing he’s been promised and we have to go all Pistone and beg for him to come back.

We have already contacted Hammers about Soucek, fee around 10 million spoken about, this was over three weeks ago, came from the Ex WH-employee and that Gonzo and Geo on their podcasts, Soucek said he wanted to stay in London and wasn't keen on the move, so I don't know what has changed, but again very old news.

Also, he is on $80k at Spam, he isn't worth that!

Sunderland midfield, not really excited over that, there is better out there in Europe, so much cheaper with a more immediate effect!

Soucek would cost considerably more than £10 million..

Longstaff probably not as he doesn’t get in the team and is out of contract in a year.

I'm not doubting he is a good leader and the mental side of his game more that if we keep with this 2 in the middle (4-2-3-1) then the 2 need to both have some legs about them and I'm not sure he does, the rest of his game is probably enough to make a decent squad player. I don't know where this would leave someone like Tim, he seems to be floating a bit at the moment imo, I could see a move for him in all honesty.
