Remember his superman dives nowhere near the ball and his starfish leaps while opponents rolled the ball past him.

Can't tell too much about Southall. Pickford has been relied much more on and is one of the reasons we are still in the prem and stayed up in 22/23 over Leicester. There's a reason he's been a number 1 at England for years.

Howard was a solid keeper, I would go as far as saying top 5 in the league in the Moyes' years, however he dropped his form around that time when Robles replaced him due to an injury and I hoped him to stay permanent after, however Martinez went back putting Howard No. 1, despite Robles showed a few really good performances.

But 133 clean sheets in 399 games and 427 goals conceded are good numbers and surely he played in roles in a individually solid defense that was superior of what Pickford had in his years here.

A pretty average keeper that we never looked to upgrade on for whatever reason. Seemed popular amongst the team mates and was definitely a Moyes person.

Never would have signed him from Utd personally, he was poor and let us down on more occasions then not, he was lucky to get to a club like this and have the career he did.

We should never of signed him and should have looked to have improved on him every year he was here, he cost us points every season.

In my generation Everton have been blessed with some great keepers, I would put Howard 3rd behind Pickford and “Big Nev”. I always thought Howard was an amazing character and liked his attitude. He made occasional mistakes, but when you play for as long as he did it’s inevitable.

Minor point: Pickford is very close to being as good as Big Nev, he is clearly one of the best in the league. It’s unfortunate that he is in such a poor generation, he deserves a trophy

I think Howard and Pickford are fairly similar keepers, probably about the same level too. Can be fantastic, but sometimes pretty bad. I think Howard was less proned to brainfarts than Jordan is. Tim was a very good keeper.
Never saw Southall play, but based on how people talk about him id guess neither Howard nor Pickford was/is on his level.

Howard better then Nigel Martyn mate - not in a million years in any multiple alternate reality dimension. (in my opinion )
