2024/25 David Moyes

Ha ha, yes that's all very Moshiri! Wasn't Iwobi a "present"? Hopefully TFG will be a bit more professional than that.
Walcott, Maupay (I 'll get you a striker three weeks late into the season when you've had all summer and throw you under the bus ).

I'd have "hedge your bets" Textor all day long over the Mosh (O'Brien, Mangala ).

If you're a DOF have a good look at the owner/chairman before you sign up.

I would get rid if Carlo would come back

Moyes has done a ok job but nothing amazing, clearly a better manager then Dyche but still not sold on keeping Moyes
The same Carlo who finished 10th in his only full season while Moyes finished sixth? And then he walked out on the club after phoning the Madrid chief to beg for a job.

Yes, the same five-time winner of the Champions League, Premier League winner, Bundesliga winner, La Liga winner, Ligue 1 winner, and Serie A winner while Moyes was winning the Conference League. And then Moyes walked out of the club after phoning Sir Alex to take the United job.

I mean, don't get me wrong. We won't get Carlo. But Moyes wouldn't lace his boots.

Moyes will take us forward next season but the lust for success amongst the fans is at fever pitch now. Anything less than derby wins, wins away at top teams, going deep in cups, and finishing in Europe I just think won’t be accepted by some parts of the fan base.

If he took us 8th with no Europe, no derby wins and no wins away at top teams, then objectively it’s a huge progression on this season yet I just don’t think it’s enough for some of the fanbase at the moment.

The fans want success which is great but I think the bar is higher for Moyes than it would be for a brand new manager which isn’t really fair on Moyes but is probably reality .

That's some crazy butt poop you're spewing there. Guy is one of the best managers who ever lived.

And no, I don't mean Moyes.

You do know that is significant context to the way that season went? We were second at one point, until the owner lies became apparent, and the project stalled.

Apparenlty complaining about the stadium.

The underlying reason for that is that we are 30 years without a trophy and Moyes is a man who contributed 11/12 of those barren years.

IMO if he got out now he'd be better thought of than when he eventually does go.

Over the last two months or so a lot of fans have remembered why they'd grown tired of him first time around: the constant favourable positioning of himself; the lack of fight at 'top' grounds; the failure to take the leash off in games we should be encouraged to go for.

I said a while back this will end in tears. I reckon that will be the case.

Fans will need to see a break from the mould or they’ll turn unfortunately.

I’ve got no doubt whatsoever that we’ll start to put teams away at home that we should be beating, but there will have to be something different to survive long term I think with the fan base. Win at Anfield, go and win at the Emirates, qualify for the CL, win a cup.

As I said, if any other manager came in and took us 8th or 9th in their first season I think he fans would accept that as a season of progress but if Moyes does it, with the caveats mentioned above, then i think fans start getting restless.

Ultimately the days of winning one derby every decade, never winning a trophy, and going multiple decades without winning at certain grounds in front of fans needs to end for this club or the fanbase is just going to get destroyed.

We can’t watch Bournemouth Brentford Palace winning at the Emirates, Anfield, Stamford Bridge etc. yet Everton have to go back to the 90s for their last result.

These runs simply have to end, and end soon, or the fanbase is going to boil over in frustration. That’s the job for Moyes unfortunately whether it’s fair on him or not.

Fortunately we won that Goodison derby recently otherwise that would have been getting on 15 years also. It’s absolutely pathetic. We’ve been a mess at times in that period but also have had sides that have qualified for Europe during that time. The entire club needs to get its act together and start behaving like a proper club.
