Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Didn't really work yesterday. No cohesion between the three players.
They had moments first half where we actually were playing one touch passing for what felt like the first time in decades.

They need time to gel together, could see they weren't always on the same wavelength but would much rather see us stick with that 3 for the rest of the season.

Would love that Ensico, not just cos of his worldy yesterday but I just think he’s a boss little player.
Enciso is decent, obviously a highlight reel player and played well yesterday but doesn't have a huge amount to his game other than being very very good at shooting from distance. Reminds me a bit of Sigurdsson tbh.

If there's one at Brighton we should be looking at it's Adingra. One year on his contract, absolutely rapid. Would love to have him on the right wing next season.

We controlled the game.

There were numerous situations where we were trying to go wide (no doubt under instruction) to get crosses in against 4 centre backs and the players were just manipulating the ball between them.

If Beto was a Bergkamp we' have probably been able to play keep ball between Garner, McNeil, Alcaraz, Ndiaye and him...thats how much control we had.

Secondly, it was blantantly obvious the 3 had never played together before. They didnt know where each other would be, where they would go...or what they may do. That comes with playing time on the pitch

Thirdly we saw Alcaraz look good on the left first half and then central 2nd. Ndiaye seemed ok to me central first then was double marked alot 2nd. Mcneil just stuck out on the right but linked well with Patterson and Garner.

Lots of positives
Agree - a centre forward who has good touch and can hold the ball up would make a big difference and build more pressure on opposing teams ..

Mate, it was his modus operandi last time as BK could only guarantee him £5m pa for players - he had to wheel and deal to go over that.

The way he was talking yesterday I expect the same again.

I doubt Moyes will fancy the responsibility of wholesale changes.

Expect a lot of re-signed contracts.

Interesting watching Delap yesterday, not so much the performance but the little soat with O Brien. Couldn't help but think if he was playing for us and did what he did to an opponent, he would have walked for the second incident.

Looked at his disciplinary record and he has received 11 yellow cards this season, 2 and most in the league.

Was previously all in on him but if he can lose his head frequently, maybe we will need to look elsewhere.

Selling, at the right time, is just as important as buying. In his first stint, Moyes often got this right. Think back to him selling the likes of Naismith and Andy Johnson (amongst others) at the right time and for a good price. Mykolenko and Garner have just one year left on their contracts this summer, and I can see us cashing in on both of them!

Also, whenever someone says “Yeah, but Cherki (or whoever) is being linked with Liverpool, City and, Spurs”, it’s worth remembering that Liverpool have just spent a fortune on re-signing Salah, City probably aren’t even interested in him, and Spurs already have loads of similar players and need to prioritise other areas.

All three clubs are supposedly linked with Mbuemo as well. The point being that the same three or four clubs that are always linked to exciting players are not going to be able to sign every one of them! It’s not the case that every single good player has the opportunity join one of those clubs. Some of the really unlucky ones have to settle for Everton on 100k a week instead!

Think will be a mix because cant fix in all one window. Is just making sure the resigned contracts on more sensible wages and length of deals. Is going to need the summer transfer window after next season to really see the changes in this squad

Personally am hopeful the three behind the striker yesterday is more of an indication of what we'll see next season.
We need a 20 goals a season striker for sure.

I'd get shut of DCL, Chermiti, Broja and keep Beto as a reserve option and add two more strikers. If that happens and we get a RB in who can get up and down the line that'd be progress.
