Greatest film soundtracks




Apocalypse Now , overall soundtrack beats the lot for me.
Was CCR’s ‘Fortunate Son’ on that S/T?

I seem to remember that the vast majority of Vietnam flicks play that tune… 🤔

Brief Encounter, if only because Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto #2, which plays throughout, is an absolute banger. Good film too.
If you’re going to go that way, then I’d also add ‘There Will Be Blood’ to that list.

The ending, after Daniel Day-Lewis bludgeons that preacher to death with a bowling pin, and his servant walks in to say what all the commotion was about, to which he exclaims: ‘I’M FINISHED!’
The movie then abruptly finishes, and the final movement of Brahms’s violin concerto kicks in, just as the movie credits start to roll up on the screen:
