2024/25 David Moyes

2 years of Moyes and midtable finishes would be a big improvement on the absolute rubbish served up in recent years.
It wouldn't though...not in our new context.

This PL is pathetically bad. Forest are a bang average team and they almost go a CL spot.

We need to be bold and get a much better manager than the dullard Moyes in.

Theres no time to waste getting Everton back up there again - it's a fantastic opportunity to make a big leap forward, but it wont come with Moyes in the dugout stinking the place out with his negativity and rancid 1970s coaching.

You're 100% right here but the reality is Moyes is in a position of strength right now. He's in charge come what may for the start of next season.

I'm happy with him leading the club into BMD. I'm sure he was given that as a guarentee when he agreed everything in January and he's kept his side of the bargain keeping the club up so comfortably.

However I'm a little concerned by how things are fizzling out. Not so much away but I was expecting Goodison to get a better winning send off than this.

Can't be having yet another season of one win in first six/seven as was the Dyche speciality as then seasons just become a grind and you're constantly looking over your shoulder in the winter months and it will just feel like all the recent seasons in a new setting.

I think Moyes will still keep things ticking over competently enough but in 12 months time they'll be expectation then the club should be looking for an upgrade as they'll also have been two more transfer windows to improve the first 11 and squad.

A really good cup run would be welcome aswell.
The problem comes that unless we are relegated in 12 months time the same people will be saying to keep him on.

A large portion of the fan base have such a hatred of any kind of ambition (largely as a result of a decade of Moyes crushing it out of them ironically).

No other club in the league looks at the clubs doing it properly and taking hard but long term decisions with their managerial choices and those picking the same crap old British dinosaurs and pines for the second option every time.

Except for Everton fans.

You’d genuinely be happy blowing probably our only chance at a rebuild signing old players like Soucek to aim for 15th every season? Why even watch football? What is the point in BMD dock if not to try and actually do something as a club?

We'll see after that how long he lasts.

I dont see him her/his time next season.

The fact of the matter is that he wont spend much in the summer - he wont pile pressure on himself with spending - and spending few quid is what we need to get top half.

His expectation management wont work with TFG.

I feel David Moyes will be a short-term foundation-building solution, he'll not get another decade or so like his last time with us. The new owners will have him out on his arse and bring in a longer-term Manager after a season or so. Just my opinion, of course; other opinions are available upon request.

I dont think you can judge Moyes too much on today's performance, he would be moaned at if he brought on too many attacking subs, moaned at if he'd tried to close game out. It was mistakes from players on park that cost us today. However if we lose at Fulham, put mediocre performance in against Southampton and get honked by Geordies which I fear, I think fans will start asking questions.

I don't think Moyes thinks he's even a medium term solution tbf. He's been fairly open about only wanting a year or two.

So you're saying you'd like to perpetuate the Everton manger merry-go-round that's a big reason for this 💩 squad with its lack of cohesion or direction?

That's real progress, Dave.

We had a game in hand too...and we were never the basket case clubs below us. We were hardly on the receiving end of a defeat. Draws did for Dyche.

Look at the bottom three now...the best off them have got 5 points more than when Dyche was here.

We were safe.

And we were 1 point ahead of them … meaning we were performing as they had been …

Meaning we would probably have earned around 5 points since Moyes took over

Dress it up however you want but we were not “ safe” far from it .. if we were safe then why change manger?

Today was ALL on Moyes. He told them to hold on to the 2-1.

We should have gone for it, its the end of the season with just places to play for

We saw with Cahill that he stumbled on to that 4411 formation. It proved successful last time.

If we had been told to attack today and shackles off with the 3 dynamic ball players behind Beto then we'd probably see much more of them.

I cant help think he'll put Doucoure back in next game and this opportunity will be lost.

Frightening to think he'll be allowed to sign players this summer.
