Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

There has been a lot of us including @GrandOldTeam who have been left confused as to whom will be doing the scouting and recruiting this summer. This latest piece whilst informative and well written, has still frazzled my brain and left me even more confused than I was before! Far too many Cooks surely??

I think as long as they are clear who is making decisions, theres no issues. I feel like the issues happen when its not clear whos responsible for pulling the trigger. Theres a lot of work in transfers, and it always seems to take us forever to get any across the line as we move so slowly. Having more people, and thus less work per person seems a good idea on paper.

My understanding is Kinnear is the head and decision maker as to which players to purchase. Hammond is under him, in charge of negotiations. What Purdy would have been doing, and the role they are now trying to fill under Kinnear, is identifying players. So the idea is two people, Hammond and the New Guy report directly to Kinnear. Players are identified by the New Guy, he brings them to Kinnear, who decides on which players they will attempt to purchase, and then Hammond will go to work negotiating the deals.

Where does Moyes fit in with all this?

So , according to your analysis Moyes has no part to play in recruitment. I suspect that you are very wide of the Mark amigo.

Would you be happy with Delap and Emegha ? Or Delap and Richarlison ( loan)

Phew what a question...like a sweetshop.

Clearly Delap would be a major coup so he'd be my first choice.

Emegha would be someone competing with Delap and is only young at 22. The same as Delap and funnily enough both of their birthdays are in Feb.

Richarlison works best imo off the left where we have Ndiaye & Emega could be where we see Delap.

Both give us competition for places and we could see a situation where we may have:

CF: Delap / Emegha / DCL
CF: Delap / DCL / Richarlison
LM: Ndiaye / Richarlison / McNeil
ACM: Ndiaye / McNeil / Alcaraz

In no particular order.

For the 3 names given neither of Emegha or Richarlison would be guaranteed starters nor would they solve our right sided issue.

Its a hard one.

As posted in the past few days, the DCL situation points to him extending.

Quoted in the BBC as saying "who wouldnt want to be part of that" with the new manager and stadium mentioned + him leading the line alone for 3 seasons.

Looks like we have our 2nd striker for next season.

I imagine we'll sell Beto and send Chermiti on loan in the summer + sign a 1st choice with a young player signed for development.
Don't be so fooled over DCL.

He and his new managerment team aren't stupid. Dom hasn't been happy with his previous big management team because they dropped the ball in the summer and nothing happened in Jan so left to rejoin his previous team.

The lad is in limbo but his happier with Moyes and Moyes WAS a fan but as his press conference confirmed he wants to see DCL do something so 4 games to convince him.

Huge media push this week with loads of Everton praise which was lacking in the summer when he has a deal on the table.

Club hasn't drawn up anything new since the last offer which isn't there anymore so it's a very nervous times for the DCL

Its Everton and Moyes.

I'm confident Moyes saying about him being in Germany getting ready to play and saying hes not match fit means...

He'll ease him in over 4 games and if he doesnt get crocked he'll get an extension.

I understand some of the negativity regarding Harrison but you can't fault his work rate and maybe with a Moyes preseason under his belt he can improve his attacking output.

Having been at the Nottingham Forest game last month, he was every where and him and O'brien had a real good understanding interchanging and bosses the right hand side for the whole game.

If O'brien is to play right back or right of a back 3, it could be worth keeping Harrison in front/alongside him.
