2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

If he wants to stay then offer him a decent base salary with incentives....stay fit and contribute with goals and assists then here's your 100k a week.....

Injured or no goals and assists, 25k a week...

Spurs did similar for years and they were constant top 4 challengers
Yeah - that Spurs model could be the way to go. As far as I remember, wasn't it fairly easy to pick up most of the overall headline rate just by showing up and being half way professional and this encouraged the players to get the rest of the add-ons quite successfully?

I actually think that Calvet-Lewin is a proper pro and wants to achieve something on the pitch, and perhaps this might be just what it takes for him and the club to prosper together if he re-signs.

If he resigns or not and is beto need real fight to be the starting cf in the team. And nobody should be the automatic starter unless it is on form. I would prefer dcl to stay and beto to be sold

This just says to me that the club are selling Beto. We will get money for Beto, and the club probably don’t want to lose 2 strikers. If Dom can stay injury free I think he will do well under Moyes.
Sell Beto bring in another striker who is capable of starting every game for us, with Dom in the Andy Johnson role

We’re a better side with him than without him imo. Holds the ball up, great in the air. His finishing is far from great but that’s partly because we don’t create much so there’s extra pressure when a rare chance does come.

If we can sell Beto, keep DCL and sign Delap and Richarlison our forward options would look much, much more promising.

You mean like Gyokeres who went to Sporting for £20m and has scored 52 goals this season. There are players out there who can improve this team within a reasonable budget. They just take good recruitment and opportunities.
There are also several players who cost £20-30m who don't adapt to the surroundings or the league

Gyokores for example, his last season at Coventry =21 goals, who finished above him that season Chuba Akpon

Top scorer in a league that Darwin Nunez got top scorer in a couple of years previously

Not saying Gyokores isn't a good player, or even that he wont go to someone like Inter and score loads of goals

The Portugese league & the championship doesn't always translate to Premier League goals

DCL made a mistake listening to his agent in my opinion. I don't know what he was offered by Everton to stay earlier in the season, but it would have been half decent. Imagine running down your contract to get a better deal when your that injury prone and you've only scored 3 goals all season. It's hardly an attractive option for another club. No Transfer fee, great! High wages... erm, what's his stats like? Long injury lay offs and doesn't score much... I'll pass thanks.
