I understand you're perspective. But for TFG to give a short term employee FULL control of the path setting, highly consequential on field rebuild, for me, doesn't line up with their operating model. And if it doesn't line up, then why do they need the committee that's being assembled?

What role isn't potentially short term in Football?

3 high profile departures from the behind the scenes recruitment and development team, who all seem to have had the opportunity to stay. Red Kev, Dan Purdy and James Vaughn.
Wonder what they’re hearing that’s influenced their decisions or is it simply coincidence?
Red Kev definitely didn't get an opportunity to stay, Purdy was offered what was in effect a demotion and Vaughan has probably received a promotion by the sounds of it.

It's a fair point but I do think there's a difference between a potential short term stay and a highly likely short term stay. Handing control to someone who you expect to stay long term but them not doing it is not the same as handing control to someone who you think is probably only lasting 2 years come what may. My concern with the change to the structure is that there aren't many managers these days who are used to having control, and so once Moyes goes you're potentially pivoting yet again to another different set up.

Of the people who will have a role within the player purchase process, Moyes has the most experience with our club, and probably the best idea of what is needed. It may be, and nobody really knows, that Moyes takes the lead this window, with a clear expectation of a transition into a secondary process in following windows as the committee get settled an implememt their processes. We know that Moyes can spot a player, and we would hope that he has had the opportunity to highlight the areas of highest priority.

You misspelled September.

Real Madrid, Manchester City

Name another club that isn't 'sell to buy'? Every single club aside from a very select few has to sell players.
Agreed Newcastle with the richest owners in the league may have to sell their best player in isak because of……PSR
All clubs are sell to buy unless they are the elite

I do think Moyes will have a pretty big say on recruitment this summer but if he pushes for say, a 30 year old Souček then the ‘committee’ will pushback and insist on a 21-25 year old option instead.

What actually worries me about the new structure is once Moyes leaves or is sacked who selects his successor? Owners again? Some agency with no skin in the game? Will we continue the "lets pick a manager who is as far away tactically as possible from the previous one" method employed so far?
