2024/25 David Moyes

They don't care what the fans think. Roma fans love De Rossi and were outraged when he got sacked.

Lets be honest, Moyes wouldn't have been in the conversation to be the manager. He is just a stop gap.

There number one targer will not change and that's who they will want to spend on transfers in the summer not the stop gap manager.
Who do you think their number one target is and if the Friedkins did get rid of Moyes, what do you think the number one target would think if he sees how little the Friedkins value the job Moyes has done? I’d steer clear as obviously nothing would be good enough for the Friedkins.

….But seeing as players are generally handed five-year contracts and it's difficult to offload failed signings, does it really make sense to give Moyes, two years on his contract, the keys to the castle when the top four is genuinely within touching distance if we just make 4-5 smart signings?

I'm not so sure it does, but obviously the right manager would need to be available to push us on, and no idea who that would be.
This is kinda my hope if he is stop gap, I don’t want a stopgap making the purchase decisions
ah let’s get back to finishing 17th
I don’t think we will finish that low with Moyes. I believe he is a good manager. I just don’t think he will get near champions league positions because he is too conservative.

They sacked 3 managers in 10 months and they currently have a stop gap in charge at Roma.

Why are they going to be loyal to Moyes??

so you think we will get a manager that isn’t moyes and then be near the champions league positions?

The managers they sacked at Roma did an awful job and they only gave Ranieri a contract until the end of the season, Moyes has done a good job and the contract length is longer. Very little chance there’s any change this summer.

Id say there is mate, all his staff are only on short term contracts till the summer, no full confirmed details of his contract were ever really released either. Chances are he probably will be but we will need to wait and see though, it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't though that's all.

i know it’s all opinions

mine is they want stability and have got it

Right away, no, it depends on investment from owners clearly, if they invest significant sums money, I believe that Moyes is not the manager that will get the most out of it. I hope I’m wrong, but I believe Moyes ceiling is comfortably mid table occasional Europe. I remember quotes of players from Man U was one of the difference between Moyes and Ferguson was Ferguson was “go win the game….” Moyes “don’t lose it….”
