2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Gutted that our usual supply could only get the one ticket which my lad has bagged for himself. I've asked for regular updates. One things for sure Derby won't be short of a following. They're already giving Humbersides finest the run around in city center.

Hope your son enjoyed himself.

Ive not seen any of it today but Armstrong got the highest rating (3.9 out of 5) on the pitch on a google search, 7.1 on sofascore & 7.17 on whoscored.

Hopefully he did as well as those ratings suggest. Only one game to go.

Getting drip fed info from him. Said the lad was always asking for the ball and when he got it, going forward was his main aim. He added that he still looks lightweight compared to other, and older players but was visible throughout. Derby will want first refusal if he's sent out on loan again.

….i thought it a huge risk sending him on loan, especially to a relegation fight in the Championship but I’m absolutely delighted it’s worked out well.

He’s clearly a talented footballer but away from all the stats etc, he must have some attitude, application and belief in his own ability to play under that pressure.

I think it’s crazy what he’s achieving, looks the coolest player on the pitch.

He should do a good job in championship for someone next year, most probably back in loan.
He won’t be getting close to our starting 11 just yet.
Seen enough young players here to know how we work.
Fully agree with you. We have to weigh up, does he get the odd game and sub appearance with us, or play a full season again in a tough league. Right now for his development would like him to go back on loan.

Kean and Lookman didn't come through the academy. It was also more their impatience than ours that they moved on.

Gordon was sold to make ends meet.

Robinson I guess got away, but he developed into that player because he played in the championship and got plenty of time with Fulham. Something that was not available here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the club does a great job with these players. But our academy doesn't churn out talent in droves, so the idea that all these kids need is a "chance" is wrong.
We are missing a beat with with players coming here and not settling. We need to look at who’s incharge of helping players assimilate and see if we can improve that. It’s a soft skill that’s nearly as important as coaching where young players to the club is concerned
