2024/25 Nathan Patterson

Playing anyone out of contract at the end of the season is senseless.
Luckily your not in charge, not playing someone because of a contract is senseless.
This is a football club, a multimillion pound business. The manager HAS to play whatever players he wants too, to get the best possible outcome and league position. Each position is worth millions of pounds in real money, not fantasy football points.

….he has to learn to defend or he’ll struggle for game time. Managers won’t trust him, points are so precious.
Maybe the club or previous managers should have looked to develop that with a loan or a (Lampard aside who did until he got injured but was doing allright) decent run of games.

Leaving him sat on the bench for the last 2.5 years hasn’t helped his game or the club.

Like I say, there’s something there in my opinion but we have failed to develop him from when he arrived. (Could have played further forward like Coleman did early 20s for example). But every club fails with certain players, we did it previously with Robinson being an example. City failed with palmer.

We will move on. Just a shame for the lad.

That or a permanent mate, hel have a year to run on his contract if he went for a year.

Wonder would Thelwell have a look at him for Rangers - might be out of their price range.

…interesting one, sounds like many Rangers fans are losing patience with Tavernier, his contract has 12 months to run. Might have a chance of Thelwell wanting him.

It is a league where Patterson wouldn’t be as exposed.

I get that there’s maybe a couple of weirdos who say stuff for the wrong reasons but genuinely the lad gets away incredibly lightly compared to others considering what his career consists of. There aren’t many players who’d have people fighting their corner after just failing to produce the goods at all in over 3 years at the club.

….its a bit like Chermiti, posters really want them to be top drawer but the reality is a lot different.

I’d be chuffed if the penny dropped with Patterson but we’ve seen enough of him now to suggest it’s highly unlikely.
