2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Im working on what we know. Our recent history with strikers is abysmal. We fluked Lukaku when we wanted BA, after that there’s absolutely no evidence that we’d of got a striker to save all our woes, don’t forget that Moyes would still be selecting DCL if he didn’t get injured, which I assume is based on what he sees in training.

Don’t be fooled in to thinking that Beto is a long term solution. He won’t be.
Don’t disagree with the below point, but he offers more than DCL in numerous areas. And also isn’t in the middle of running his contract out.

So for me Beto starts every game and plays every minute he is capable of. Develop him

I agree that Beto should be played if DCL wants out, especially now Moyes has saved us, but I don’t see that as a reason to slag DCL, who in the grand scheme of things has been more than value for money, given our recent transfer history.

Given any transfer history. 1.5m for 70+ goals. People slating him for not playing good making out like us as a team was playing good during that time.

It’s crackers. Given the state of current game he’ll be of more use than Beto. There will certainly be occasions where DCL would’ve held the ball where Beto won’t, increasing the pressure on us.
I would be one of the first ones to say play dom over beto (i've said for ages to play both of them at the same time though) i'm not going to lie but beto has impressed me massivley lately.

Since he played under Moyes that is true, at the same time people are forgetting DCL netted against Spurs and got injured in the next game. It's probably true to think we could have seen a step change in Dom too under Davey.

Not that it matters now because he is injured and likely to leave in the Summer.

In a perfect world he resigns and joins in the moyesalution

A lot of people would have been happy to see Beto sold in Jan and a replacement brought in. Looks completely different now. Beto talking about how he’s being shown videos now and working on his game makes Dyche’s management look appalling. Calvert Lewin would 100% be scoring more in this team.
Think he’ll be a smart signing for someone in the summer.
