2023/24 Sean Dyche

You said we don't create enough. Of course if you completely disregard the good chances we miss then it will look like we don't create, but that's a bit silly.

Our issue is chance conversion, not creation.

But we can’t make Beto and DCL into clinical strikers mate … so we need to create more .. it would be easier to change our tactic and get more people in the box, or get more crosses in, or stop lumping it upto two strikers that can’t control a ball, or to not leave them so isolated when we do lump it .

Translate it to wins or it's as pointless as the "1000 passes per game" stat in the Martinez era.
We have to take our chances, but the stats shows us that our style of play generates scoring opportunities. What we are lacking are players that can put the ball in the net. Can't se how Dyche can solve this with the current squad

Yeah not like any of them have scored goals before, ever.

Why not? Our players are all gash apart from Pickford and branthwaote … and they aren’t going to a rival

Seems a bit harsh to be bashing Dyche for not creating enough chances if you think the majority of our players are gash.

As @GrandOldTeam pointed out we need a pragmatist right now as the club lurches in uncertainty and with limited resources both in the squad and money to fix it. Everton’s existence next few years is to somehow eek out sufficient points to avoid a catastrophic relegation while they get settled into a new stadium and monetise it as a Premier League venue to get maximum commercial advantage from it. An idealist hasn’t got the tools or money to get Everton playing as they’re committed to, Dyche finds ways to get points over the line - as would be demonstrable minus the points deduction this year.

As posted on the page before Everton have one of the highest retentions of ball further up the pitch which should appeal to Evertonian love of front foot football and aggression against all opponents. I don’t think the football is all that bad to be honest, the guile Dyche has brought is complimented by some actual footballers like Branthwaite, Garner, McNeil who can pick a pass. Compare that against the ineffective idealism of Lampard before.

Everton have to find aways to turn 0 points into 1 point and 1 points into 3 points by way of marginal gains with limited tools to do so. Here’s another way Dyche is finding that edge.

He’s smart and what Everton need now. The future is uncertain and any sort of march to glory a long way away. Success in this purgatory we find ourselves in is retaining Premier League status and lowering the age of the squad so that when sustainable process is possible that we have the tools to do it.

The hiring and firing of Everton Managers every year hasn’t helped either on the pitch nor off it with the annual compensation packages we’ve been paying. Time for patience and pragmatism, both with Dyche and the fans.

I don't like it when you talk serious

I am a HUGE fan of the looping back post to Tarkowski bak across for the tap in. Very fruitful and had Vicarios head falling off last week over and over lol Tarkowski's not really THAT big for a CB but he makes contact every time pretty much.

He's smart, but not smart enough to see his own mistakes, which is the frustrating part, as then he wouldn't be a bad manager at all.

Also since when do you post serious things?!

It’s much easier just to call you toads and abuse your insecurity mind. Get a grip of yourselves you entitled manbabies.
Much more like it.

Let’s not pretend that putting a corner to the back post is some kind of Dyche genius 🤣

It works because we have Tarks, Branthwaite, Onana, DCL, Beto, and Doucs all 6ft plus and Tarks is very good at attacking the ball. I don’t think we score enough from set pieces tbh!

Not all corners and free kicks get into the box very well, but we scored 13 goals from them, which is good and half of the goals in prem. I am more worried about that we've only scored 13 goals from open play. But this is also because of the lack of finishing since we should have 5-6 with more composure. I think we will end up with 40-45 goals at the end of the season, it's not very good, but better than the 34 last season.
