Merlin Rohl doing rounds again, although it comes from some dodgy sources. Hope we’ll be back for him, as we were apparently interested in January. 6’2 CM with goals in him. Should be perfect for us.

Imagine spending all day whinging about 4th choice centre back Michael Keane signing a one year extension when the most promising left-footed English centre back in about the last 20 years has just signed a 5 year deal. No doubt the same people...

Can't say I agree. It's not particularly wise to sell your only experience striker at the club since we have let DCL go. Besides, Beto performed well last season under Moyes and with Alcaraz. He's good enough to stay and we should have enough...
  • ToffeeScot
Why? We only have Beto and Chermiti as strikers and it's heavily rumoured the latter will go on loan. We need at least one striker. I imagine we will sign another on loan or for free.

You can tell some people read an athletic long read once about how it’s good to sign young players and now apply it to every situation without any nuance whatsoever.
  • ToffeeScot
So you want us to buy a young CB, then loan him out for a year. And not have a backup on the bench?
  • ToffeeScot
well yeah, I do think most good young players want to play now and aren't interested in being that low, but of course there are going to be some examples that don't follow that. Despite that, we have seen players at clubs like Chelsea/City leave...
  • ToffeeScot
Please think about the clubs you're comparing there. Chelsea and City are far beyond the level we are currently. Also, the player you're describing would not be cheap.
  • ToffeeScot
Most good young players now aren't interested in being that low down the pecking order. They want to play. They'd have to be extremely good to start in front of Tarks/Branthwaite/JOB from the off and players of that quality will not be cheap...

Im sorry but whos 4th choice cb is a good player? City were using Kyle walker as cb last season and im reliable told hes the worst thing to happen to football since seb blatter. If city dont have a better cb then what do you exspect us to have...

Well, that's not true. At any rate, anyone we get will have warts. The only difference between him and someone of his ilk is that we've seen his warts week-in and week-out.

It very much is though, despite you refusing to accept it. Nobody wants us to resign Michael Keane, surely you can understand that? Some people are able to read between the lines and think that it's either him or someone very similar to him and...

You're assuming we won't sign a RB. We just tried to sign Tete.

There is a month and 13 days before the first game.
  • ToffeeScot
Going in for Tete suggests we are trying to sign a RB.
