For me, ever since the 5 sub rule it makes more sense to keep players. The manager has to play them though. As said above we can see where he is at in January. Unless he absolutely stinks out the preseason, I think he stays.
Looks good enough to be in and around the first team, I'd hold off on a loan for the lad and see how close he is to starting first, maybe a January loan if he's not getting minutes. It has to be a good level though, he needs the next step
