Ok can we stop with this bollocks? How does re-signing Keane to a 1 year deal show they have ‘zero ambition’ exactly? Why were people expecting them to go on a mad dash spending spree when we’ve barely just cleared our PSR issues?
To some extent the new owners represent a new dawn at Everton. But they can't magic their way to signing top class players. One they won't come and two we remain unable to compete financially for several reasons not clear to me. The target for...
Mate am with ya....As much as I want Keane punted I can see why they have offered him a years deal.
Although it's a "new era" so to speak, I always thought this summer was still going to be a bit of a balancing act.
This new era won't happen...
If the alternatives as rumoured were a rapidly declining Ben Mee or spending actual money on Adam Webster, I’m happy he’s signed on again. Seriously doubt any 4th choice we would’ve brought in would have been any better than him.
I agree with you mate Keane is a much better player than most think on this forum, he gets far to much stick and is a scapegoat for most fans on here, get off his back and leave him alone.
Good. Never complains, always available if needed. Will be 3rd/4th choice behind Branthwaite, Tarkowski and O'Brien. It means we don't have to look for a 4th CB who will command a fee. And he gets a few goals too.
It’s not spectacular, but it’s spectacularly sensible.
After the past ten years this is the sort of decision we need.
Why spend on an emergency backup 4th CB who can pull off the odd BLAMMO when we have a perfectly good one right there.
I thought that, but various sources online suggest it's about £150k a week, so likely about £30k more than our top earners. Absolutely brilliant player, but we shouldn't be destroying our wage structure just yet.
Every other day the miserable arseheads find something else to moan about.
You'd think we were moving into something similar to Prenton Park they way they whine, not the best purpose built football stadium in the country.
