That’s fair mate, he maybe exceeded initial expectations here. He was a good honest player in my opinion, but he had limits for me. Not intended to be a critisim really he made the best of the talent he had.

My clear memory is that he amazed fans including me by playing well above what we expected, earning him the delightful sobriquet Zinedine Kilbane.

All effort mate, I don’t think anyone thought he was amazing, more I think people appreciated the effort within his limits which made him a bit of a cult hero ….like the Strauq.
