£4m on a back up keeper does seem an odd one when there's usually a load of that type floating round on a free. Hopefully it's a sign of an increased budget rather than a strange use of what we've got to play with.

Hard to get too excited about a back-up GK but by spending £4m on one,.. I’d hope it shows we have pretty decent funds to spend on our priority positions too. ** Don’t vault me when the RW is Jack Harrison and RB is Ashley Yong re-signing.

I do find it a concern that Bournemouth had Kepa last season, who has now joined Arsenal and this fella isnt being considered for the Number 1 due to them buying a Chelsea reserve. But as you say, hes coming in to help Pickford warm up before...

I’m quite confused at people seemingly suddenly becoming aware of the concept of a back up keeper for the very first time in their life.

I don't really get the big deal about badges being a 'sticker' to be honest. Rubbish if it peels off easily obviously, but as long as it doesn't I don't see why it's such a big deal. Most people I see at the game wearing Montirex, North Face...

It isn't though really, that's what I'm saying. I'd be happy with it, i'm just saying most teams like us don't pay £5m for a back up keeper, and we never have before. It's a lot of money in a relative sense.

It's a lot of money for a back up keeper. If we pay £5m for him it'll give me some confidence that the budget is significantly bigger than I thought it was.

Mild concern is appropriate for where we are. If it's 10 players we're getting in, then the pace of delivery of that is very pedestrian at present and it would be hard to say that it looks to be on track. I've never thought we'll get that...

I think this is what sometimes causes confusion with these things, although I don't really know why. Everybody understands that we'll get players in, nobody thinks that we're going to start the season with 14 players or whatever. People just want...

You think that’s a lot? We had to sign Alcaraz before his clause ran out and the others bar Branthwaite were out of contract in July. We have a lot to do, it’s been a fairly slow start. That’s not controversial.

I loved Richy but why as a club ( no criticism of you mate ) do we always look backwards? Time to find the new , fitter Richy at a fraction of the price!

That’s standing still though. Only one of those players were not here last season and we will have to wait and see if he’s better than the fella that just left. We have about 6 more replacements to make to bring the squad back up to last...

If I’m honest I think people went a bit overboard about o’briens performances at right back. He showed he was a good footballer but he had some very average games in my opinion, and people just got a bit giddy because he wasn’t ashley young and...

3 good years out of him and a 33% profit on what you paid, you’d take that ten times of ten for a signing I reckon.

Could go either way with them I think, elanga and MGW are good players but £120m is a hell of a lot of money to be able to reinvest.
