Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, it was Mrs bl’s birthday yesterday so we had a nice family lunch out, and today we’re off to Munich with a visit to Salzburg thrown in, looks hot there 🌞🙂

It’s the “ no harm in making a fair offer” that is the problem .His talent had been identified early before he’d signed a Scholarship, so the potential was there for clubs to poach him on the cheap , usually with just a derisory compensation fee. U16s particularly are so variable, in recent...

Jonathan Nsangou there, confirming what someone posted a few days ago about him having a number and integrated into u18s already.

I partly agree with your sentiment about getting in a few more. However , I was actually pleased that Jeremy Monga has committed to Leicester for his Scholarship and apparently a pro deal when he’s 17. U16’s particularly seem to be targeted by the likes of City, United, RS and Spurs , they can...

We do shroud various aspects of our Scholars in mystery , particularly date of birth , so I’m not sure when his birthday is. Akarakiri is another one , his DoB is down as September when he’ll be 17 which is odd .

Seems a bit odd, he’d have signed a nearly two year Scholar contract when we signed him at 16, so a year to go on that and presumably when he’s 17 he’ll sign the pro contract . I’d have thought a 3 year pro contract would be on the cards, putting him in the same category as Graham.

How about something like people paying to get a title below your avatar like “ Forum Supporter”,” Player thread Sponsor” or the widely coveted but horrendously expensive “ Staff Member”?

No , very much as expected, I don’t ever recall us getting so much access and info on the u16s before to the extent we know more and have seen more of these than any new scholars recently. Malik has a swagger and a presence which bodes well if he is to achieve what we think he can achieve.

    2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Well you said “I want to see him be braver in possession, ask for it under pressure ” . I said I’d seen it and gave examples, in I believe a balanced manner. If you disagree cos you’ve seen different that’s fine, it’s a Forum with different views, you seem to be on a personal mission to try to...

    2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

From your posts you indicated you only saw him once at Derby, very likely the game a lot of people watched where Derby lost and he was poor. In other games he was the go to and get out guy in the middle of three midfielders. What impressed me so much was how he moved towards players under...

    2024/25 Harrison Armstrong

Lee Molyneux was the S&C coach that Gordon used a while back, so it’s a great sign of Armstrong’s attitude - for me Gordon had the best attitude, desire to improve of any of our youngsters in the past 10 years or so. Having watched as many games as I could have when Harrison was playing for...

Welcome to the dire commentary those of us who watch the u21s have suffered for years - Daz , Snods, and Diamond are regular embarrassments for anybody who wants to hear a decent commentary where they actually get players names right .

I remember Nixon , and others , were saying we were signing Harrison Duncan , a young defender from Rotherham, a few months ago. It would be good to see the new Scholars and their stories.

    The Club World Club

Following rugby’s example is something I’ve espoused on GOT for many many years. Player safety really. If someone falls to the ground clutching their head they could be concussed , so off they go for a 10 minute “ HIA”, head injury assessment where a doctor determines if they’re allowed back on...
