Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

People are getting upset because other people aren't getting upset.
Interesting indeed.
TBF Kev, from what I've seen a small number of people on here are getting upset because a small number of other people are taking the piss out of somebody who has died. When you've lost somebody close yourself recently it's something that is difficult to get your head around.

The clue is to look at the time it was posted. I like Pete. He is a good man who takes serious clog in CA, but, and its not just him, ale and keyboards can sometimes not be the greatest idea.

Back to Queen etc etc, to me, its the constitutional stuff thats interesting. Like loads of regions having to proclaim the new King, I guess goes back to the Wessexs and the Sussexs etc having to declare that their Dukedom accepts the new monarch as legit. Centuries old tradition and custom in the X Box Facebook world is kinda neat, in a weird way.
The constitutional stuff is fascinating. Some of it going back hundreds of years.

I also like Pete. He's a good lad.

Oh aye, guessed he was a few sherries in. As you say, Pete's a good egg who posts with a wry smile most of the time and laughs off the sparring sessions.

I find it all fascinating tbh. The public reaction is a study in itself. I don't understand why people are so upset, so it makes it interesting.
The public reaction you see Davey is the one the UK media wants you to see.

I'm on a cruise at the moment and I think it's fair to say that the overwhelming majority on here are to varying degrees in favour of the Monarchy. But after the first couple of days I've not heard the subject mentioned at all. I've sat down to dinner with probably 9 or 10 couples over the last few days and the her name hasn't cropped up once. I haven't heard others talking about it either. It just isn't on people's agenda.

Historically it probably is a significant event but it isn't the big deal the media are trying to make out.

Some people are engaging in mass mourning but you get that whenever somebody famous dies. And even if you don't like her, you have to admit that the Queen was pretty famous.

Everyone I know is trying to ignore it. There's quiet resistance to it.
