I haven't tried my new air fryer yet not done much cooking, disaster roast apart. i wanted a new one as the old one had started to stink really badly of grease, I eat a lot of frozen food and you can't half tell how much oil they use, comes out in the air fryer and even though I cleaned the basket, over time it got too bad and the inside of the fryer was bad as well.
So I bought a halogen/air fryer cooker the other month but it's not as good as my old air fryer, so I got a new one and bought some grease proof baskets to cook in and I will be getting a liner as well to hopefully combat smelly grease between both of them i will use the cooker even less. They do chips brilliant and pies though.
I read about your chicken, sweet potato and potato ordeal earlier. And a delicious alternative sprung to mind.
Buy some chicken thighs. Sainsburys do 6 in a packet for about £2.50. Then one sweet potato, several small spuds, and a carrot/parsnip.
Basically, peel and chop the veg into bite sized pieces, lob them and 2 thighs into the oven, takes about 40 to 50 minutes to cook. For some luxury, add a few chunks of chorizo sausage, oregano, and ideally, olive oil. But any oil will do.
Finally, before cooking, squeeze half a lemon over the lot.
Olive oil is expensive, but lasts forever, same with a pot of oregano. So when you decide to do it again, with another 2 thighs, (defrosted, obvs), it will cost about 40p.
Try this. Just as easy, way less gas/leccy
