Funnily enough my mate is a Burnley season ticket holder and he says exactly the opposite

I didnt mention anyones mate...i simply suggested I would imagine you and @BluePaul86 hadnt seen much of him.

He had 2.5 good months last season and was pretty dreadful in the run in (i watched a few of their and Watfords games).

Dennis and Cornet for some reason have been massively overrated when directly responsible for some insipid performances.

They run around alot...but for 2/3 of the season were pretty poor from what I could see.

Back to your mate though, id say McNeil had a bland season just gone...but prior to that he showed far more than Cornet.

In France Cornet really wasnt very good either.

I take it neither of you have seen Cornet bar 2 games against us and some highlights...

McNeil is by far the better player.

On the first 2 games, McNeil looks every bit the player who went a full year without a goal

Never seen a new signing look so disinterested and lethargic so soon after getting a big move. Can't even get himself involved in the match. I have big concerns whether he has the mentality to play here.

Let’s all just remember the journey we’ve already been on here with McNeil since he signed. I’m still very positive about it, we saw what he can do against Kyiv. Will be better with a target man in the middle.

Aye, a completely anonymous first two games from him when you'd fully expect, at the bare minimum, high energy levels and him putting himself about to get the fans on his side.

I dont think a 22 year old who was very highly rated 12months ago and recognised as his teams best player by a mile can be fairly judged in these circumstances.

He can be judged every time he steps onto the pitch. His first two performances have lacked energy and intensity. This isn't Burnley, being completely anonymous isn't good enough and if it needs to be made clear to him, then Lampard needs to do that.

If a mickey mouse friendly match against a token team isn't a solid barometer of a players talent and ability, I don't know what is...

I actually don’t mind McNeil as a player - I just don’t think he’s the right fit for our set up.

12 months later...
