Great photos @Sassy Colombian what is the second berry as it doesn't have the same leaves as our blueberry ? Don't eat that mushroom!
Thanks, darling! Those are our blueberry bushes. What does the leaves for yours look like?

I wouldn’t dared to pick mushrooms from the forest unless I am with someone with such knowledge because I know nothing about eatable fungi. Here are some other shots of mushrooms from last week’s hike in the forest. Do you recognize any?

Been going for about 20 years this. Its truly amazeballs when you see dozens of them drifting across the city.

Anyone know if these go on anywhere else?
They have a smaller version in Helsinki in the summer ,sometimes they flew over our house and very low easily heard the conversation. I always thought of signing on as a "Hot air ballon retriever " thought it might be as good as the fella who signed on as a Coronation program seller !

I went out to the garage after the defeat to think about something else and finished varnishing the dinghy ,it is made from old pine and an old teak worktop ,all cast off wood :-

Very nice. Your are so talented with your hands, Blue! A few days ago I noticed and meant to comment about the great job you did building the stairs for your cat, those look great too.

The white one might be a puffball but definitely don't eat it unless you know for sure ,there are more ways to identify ,smell is a very important one and the colour of any juice is too .Screenshot 2022-08-14 at 14.19.44.png

They reckon 1/2 million folk go to it over the four days, plus heavens only knows how many watch them fly from all over the area.

Morning Mascoteers,

Wow , it is boiling hot already ( 8am).

Don't know about you but I find it so hot sleeping in this weather. Anyway due to break tomorrow so hopefully some rain and perhaps even a thunderstorm!

Amazing photos @Sassy Colombian looks like something out of Jurasic Park. Me and Mrs J were chatting about travel last night and although we are pretty widely travelled particularly in SE Asia we've never really wanted to visit the USA and probably need to do so.

Going to do a CV session in a bit then some relaxing yoga . Sat out for an hour yesterday and it wasn't too bad so might do the same again before I watch Chelsea v Spurs.

Everton - mon dieu! Ok the positives .... excellent spirit amongst the players and absolutely no doubt that they are really trying and putting a shift in ( especially Iwobi) . Defence very well organised. However ..............there is virtually nothing going forward and we just don't look like scoring . Without goals relegation becomes almost inevitable. It's not just a lack of CF ( although we are desperate for 1 even 2 strikers ) we just aren't creating much.

For me the balance of the team is all wrong. If you play with wing backs they need to start high up the pitch so you play with 3 at the back not 5.
We need 3 in midfiled otherwise we are overrun and 2 up top , perhaps split strikers.

If we don't learn lessons soon we will be in big trouble.

Anyway could be worse - we could be Man U spending a billion pounds on players to be that crap. At least we've only spent half a billy.

Have a lovely day y'all.
Thanks, Jazzy. I understand you and Mrs. J hesitation to visit the US but if there is one country that I have been fortunate to travel widely (even though I still have a lot to see) is this nation. I may have mentioned this already here so forgive me if I you are reading this again, but back in 2002 the hubby and I took 3 months of to travel all over the US in our VW van. We drove almost 21,000 kilometers (I mean Mr. Sass did, I only drove like 200 of those lol) and we visited as many national parks as we could and one thing became clear to me about this country, how diverse it is from region to region and how amazingly beautiful its landscape is. Not to mention how much wildlife there is too. During our trip I witnessed animals on the wild that I had never seen in my life. Another aspect is that a lot of this natural beauty is accessible for free. With the hubby we were discussing this aspect yesterday, how fortunate we were. In Costa Rica for example, we had to pay every time we wanted to go for a hike as most land is private and people are trying to make a living of it. Anyway, all this to say that if you and Mrs. J ever decide to visit the US you won’t be disappointed with the beauty this country has to offer. And while I don’t have enough space to invite you to stay with us. If you ever want to visit this region you can count of me as your guiding tour. The Blue Ridge mountains that you see in this pic are among the oldest in the world. There is so much to see in this area besides nature as one of the richest man in the US, George Vanderbilt used to own half of the mountain in this area and built his summer family retrieve in this area. Considered America’s largest home. This French Renaissance castle is in the heart of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains and it is an architectural jewel. The home features 250 rooms, including 35 bedrooms, 43 bathrooms and 65 fireplaces. Not bad for a summer home lol Asheville is also know as beer city as we have a lot of microbreweries and many of our restaurants are top cuisine. So if you ever decide to visit the US keep this region in mind.

Btw, I hope you get some cooler weather soon and great assessment regarding the Blues. The main aspect is that there is hope to this season but we need a striker but hopefully two, given our injury record.
