….very disappointed and surprised, I thought he’d be an ideal blend with Patterson given his willingness to cover and quality to interplay.

Hopefully, he’s confused by his new role & will improve with time.
Did you see him heading inside as Patterson overlapped for the cross if he didn’t do it himself?

I did myself but I’m now wondering could he play at the head of a 3 in midfield.

I’m struggling with this one and I hope I’m vaulted as he hits a 40 yarder at Anfield.

He is absolutely not what we needed. Same as Alli. And to think these people at Everton are actually paid money to identify players like McNeil and Dele and throw mega millions contracts at them knowing if the transfer doesn't work it'll be yet another player to add to the list of those we cannot offload and will be with us until their contract winds down in 4-5 years.

After the final whistle with the Kiev keeper letting him score.

When McNeill came on he changed that game. Maybe that is the way he should be used for now.
I don’t think there’s any evidence he has that in his locker though really. He strikes me more as a player who puts a shift in and nags away rather than a player with the ability to change games. I wouldn’t put too much stock in him coming on as a late sub in a friendly and having some joy, I saw Nicolas alexandersson score a hat trick in pre season once, and Nyarko look like a young vieira.

Well that’s fair enough, but I have only seen him live once and he was good.

Strikers will make other players better. If we had more upfront, he may have more to aim at, or more space to run into.

Not going to judge him when he's being played as a striker even though he has been woeful in his first two games. When we get him playing in his position with a proper target man etc etc then he can be judged until then I'll cut him some slack. I would be happier though if he looked like he wanted to be here but he looks really short of confidence.

He'll find his feet.

Doing think he's ever played in a flowing front 3 with no striker he can't cross a ball to.

His fault for the goal though.
