Last Film You Watched

Thought it was very good, I quite enjoyed the sort of role reversals of Cusack and Cage, with Cusack playing against type as the mentaller and Cage being somewhat normal

Looking forward to this one. Loved Cage in 8MM, which is a gritty movie where he's trying to track down some people making snuff films. Hoping for more of the same here.

Just watched it because of this post. Nice little movie. As you said, can't go wrong with Denzel. 6/10

I'm a sucker for movies/series about hunting down serial killers (Zodiac, Seven, Mindhunter etc), so if anyone's got any decent recommendations, I'm all ears.
There is one with Tyler Perry (Yip!) and Matthew Fox (the guy from Lost).

I can't remember the name, but it was actually good.

I almost swerved it, because when I hear the name 'Tyler Perry', I automatically start bringing up images of him a fat suit as Madea.

I can't stand those movies!

If you haven't seen the usual suspects... Give that a good! Spacey at his best.

I actually got The Usual Suspects on bluray, but haven't got around to watching it yet!

I googled the first movie you mentioned. I suppose you're talking about Alex Cross. It's now on my list!

I watched Thirteen Lives, really enjoyed it although I couldn’t get the thought of what a disgrace of a country we live in were we give knighthoods and £1000s to people for singing a few songs but we rely on volunteers to save lives.

That's the one based on those boys who got stuck in that underwater cave in Thailand?

Who did they cast to play Elon Musk? You know when he showed up with a mini-submarine that his engineers designed in what I can only imagine was drempt up in a non-stop 3 day cocaine binge.

And the one diver called him out for being the tvvat that it is.

They showed uncommon good taste and didn’t mention him.

Watched It Chapters One and Two over the past couple of days.

Chapter One was great, really well performed by the kids who make up the Loser Club and a stunning interpretation of Pennywise.

Chapter Two was long, disjointed and lacking the warmth of the first one.
I agree with that assessment mate.

My only real issue that I had with it was that they tried too hard to emulate Stranger Things.

Compared to the original? I think the new one was better.
I'm a Tim Curry fan, but I'll have to give it to the new one.

I've not seen Stranger Things, but I did feel that the first chapter had an appreciation for the source material and actors that was lacking in the second chapter, so emulation would explain it.

I always think King's work translates to screen much better when the director gets that balance between horror and the ordinary right. It felt, in the second chapter, that the material had got away from them.

Appreciate your insight though, cheers!

So, bit of a twist to this one, I wasn't overly amused with will smith to begin with and the oscars thing earlier this year sealed the deal. I dont watch his films anymore because hes a bit of an A-hole. (dont think denzel covered himself in glory either but thats another issue). So I'm conflicted, I rather like spacey, or rather his quite excellent filmography. LA Confidential, Glengarry Glen Ross, American Beauty, Se7en, Usual Suspects, Moon... it turns out hes up on some pretty substantial charges, if I can condemn smith and zero his films then I have to do the same with spacey don't I. Grim.
