Have we put Marcel Brands back in charge of recruitment? It's like signing Moise Kean all over again. There's no way a 20 year old putting a few very average games in the French league is worth £30m.
If we do sign him it'll be just as big a risk as Kean was and just as likely to go horribly wrong.

We will make a profit on Kean when Juventus complete their obligation to buy next summer. He didn't settle here granted, but in pure financial terms its been in our top 20% of Mosh's era.

Outside possibility of Gallacher/Gilmour late in the window too. Patterson and Mykolenko (23 & 20) in January. Dobbin, Brainthwaite and Onyango with decent loans. It looks like the beginnings of a plan if we can complete on said deals.

Pity we couldnt have brought in Colwill really as then we'd have him and Branthwaite pushing for places...over the next few seasons.

Its why Coady wouldnt be such a bad signing as some say...he and Tarkowski should 'rub off' on others around them with Branthwaite coming back next summer to learn from them.

Sometimes short term solid signings like him and Tarkowski for 3 or 4 seasons isnt a bad thing.
