Unfortunately its unlikely hes ever the same player so we have two options. We either sell him for whatever we can get, or we start to treat him like a squad player and buy the long term replacement now (ideally the latter).

We need our long term striker who is our no.9 and starts when fit. Do it now. Find the cash, cut costs elsewhere and rebuild the squad.

Relying on DCL this season will get us relegated. We owe it to him to to bring someone in to take the pressure off him.

Wouldn't go that far but deciding to keep him and build your entire team around him may very well cost Fronk his job this season if results go south.

We all knew the Richarlison funds were largely to satisfy FFP - probably could have gotten £50 million from a Newcastle for DCL this summer posting a full profit on the accounts giving us the ability to rebuild the entire team.

Ashton, Sturridge, Owen

DCL sadly has joined a list of talented crock strikers.

Richie also wanted to leave (I think he probably wanted to go last season but was repaying us for our faith in him and for letting him go the Olympics etc).

He was always leaving unless we had got into Europe.

So I fully understand wanting to keep DCL and not necessarily HAVE to replace our main two forwards.

Unfortunately, we look like we will have to anyway.

We have no idea if Lampard had any say in the matter. Why are you pinning the blame on him for something that none of us know anything about?
