Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Hello all. I have been doing some detective work and discovered our friend Methuselah on ToffeeTalk via the photo he shared on here. He posts under a different name on that forum. He has not posted on that forum for about the same time as he stopped on this one. However I noticed that he was last seen on there last Thursday at 12:00 and, checking back to GOT, he visited GOT last Thursday at 11:27am. Hopefully he's still reading the posts but doesn't feel inclined to join in at the moment.

Internet stalking.......a speciality of mine!

Great work Wagatha

Good morning all on this sunny day here in Finland.I hope all slept well and have a great day today . Shopping and punctures here for us and may be more berries as we are off to find pastures new ,we still haven't got our bearings foraging wise ,as most of the forest is managed for the birch and we need a mixed forest for foraging it is still proving difficult .
@Armaghtoffee isn't that great a true break form normality . We get a similar experience when we have a power cut ,we once had no electgricity for 6 days ,we had an outside loo and used candles for light .Luckily we had a water boiler in the sauna and we could wash properly there and dry our clothes .We ate from the BBQ and it was Xmas .

Morning all, sun just poking through the cloud here. Daughter just asked if we can look after the girls this morning as she has to go into work, so the lazy morning I was planning has just disappeared. Had a good afternoon getting to know Minnie yesterday, the two cavaliers aren’t too impressed with their new playmate, she keeps interrupting their sleep, those dogs could sleep for England! They put themselves on the landing out of the way, Minnie is too small for the stairs! Have a good day all.?

Get Minnie a stair lift. Her friends are missing her....

Morning everyone.

Well football came home, at last.

Lovely sunny morning here and i. off to the gym next.

Nothing else planned for the say so a read and snooze in the sun sounds good.

Have a lovely day
I think I enjoyed the celebrations more than I enjoyed the football last night. Those girls certainly know how to party. and you have to say that they are much better dancers than their male counterparts. lol It put a real smile on my face which was very welcome in these troubled times.

I was so pleased that the Germans lost. Thought their bullying tactics were outrageous if I'm honest. Lost count of the number of times they left the foot in and weren't punished for it. Especially against our poor keeper, who I have to also praise for her performances throughout the tournament. Refreshing to see a keeper consistently catch the ball from crosses. She isn't the tallest either but makes full use of the advantage of using her arms. Not rocket science is it?

I said in the match thread last night that I thought the team with the most blonde ponytails would win. Think I just about called that one right. Now whether they were natural blonde ponytails I wouldn't like to say. lol

Edit. Forgot to add mate, enjoy your day of rest. You deserve it after your exploits with the drive.

Columbo.

Haven’t watched it for years but in a house with no wifi or TV package you watch what’s going.

Running out of the living room to make tea and toast during the adverts transported me right back to childhood ?
Brilliant. None of this on demand stuff. If you missed it, tough. You had to wait until it was repeated. And if anybody went to the loo during an advert break the shrieking from downstairs of " It's back on!!" could have raised the dead.

Saw this and it made me laugh

Men for 60 years: It's coming home, it's coming home

Women: Oh FFS! I'll get it myself.

Great result though. Should do loads for girls who want to play football. I love that there are so many more opportunities for girls nowadays. I would have loved to have played cricket as a youngster. My daughter played rugby for her school and loved it. She stopped because as she got older she didn't like being sweaty when she went to the next class- even after a shower.

Morning all, just had a nice walk round the fields for 90mins and Daisy had a run off her lead and managed not to roll in poo for a change so all good. Seen a few rabbits today, good thing about Daisy is even off the lead she wouldn't do anything, except try and play with them obviously lol

Stopped at the co-op on the way home for milk, £1.80 for 4pinter it's £1.45 in Aldi and Tesco, mind blown at that, It was already £1.50 before the price hike
20220801_093233.webp20220801_093244.webpcan just about see the rabbit in the distance there in first pic, couldn't get closer or they scarpered

Hope everyone is well, I'm going to phone the mental health tomorrow see what's going on before I become a real mess.

Have a good bank holiday mascoteers.

Oh and well done those Lionesses I watched a bit and the standard is much better these days, that first goal was a peach

Thanks Fred.

I thought the final was interesting. After all the publicity I watched the whole game , the first time i've watched 90 / 120 minutes of a womans game.

I have to be very honest and say that I was dissappointed in the quality of play. I had expected much better. I thought both keepers were good , despite what I'd heard about female keepers.
I thought Germany were technically better but should have had Rauch sent off in the first half.

Overall it was the lack of technical ability that surprised me. I watch a lot of womens golf and table tennis. At the top level , of course they lack power and physicality but their technique is absolutely superb - as good , if not better , than top men.

However last night , apart from the pass and finish for the 1st goal which was excellent I saw players struggling to control and pass the ball. Perhaps it was the occasion I don't know.

Of course , I am made up that we won and I thought that when we went 2-1 up we played with professionalism and snide to run the clock down. Thought Williamson and Walsh were very good . Would be very interested to see what everyone else , especially @anjelikaferrett and @Gwladysover thought.
