I think with Batshuayi it all comes down to money, if he is cheap enough sign him on loan. He Isa world above the Venezuelan Donkey, who is, as things stand, our back up player for our injury suspect centre forward. Batshuayi isn't not a top class centre forward, but,as back up, he is miles ahead of Rondon.

The only good thing I can say is he is better than Rondon. And it’s likely he will be given away for a tiny sum.

Yes. Mostly a sick note first time round. Plus, we were struggling little old Palace. Not a great destination for decent players at that time.

I’m just hoping we go for a specialist striker as opposed to one who can ‘play across the 3 positions’ ala Richarlison (who incidentally was pretty poor when played at CF imo). Think we have enough on the wings to get us through this season (given monetary position) but frighteningly light in proper strikers. Don’t want batshuayi but see the reasoning.

Doesn't this sort of depend on how you view Alli? IMHO he's not a wide forward, so we only have Gray, Gordon and McNeil who can play out wide (until Townsend returns), whereas Alli and Rondon both provide cover for DCL.

I'd prefer to see another left footer who can play wide right and CF.

Conversely if you perceive Alli as capable of playing out wide then I can see why you'd want a more specialist CF. I wonder if the decision will be made by simple analysis of who's available on loan?

Michy is absolute pony let’s be honest. I doubt we have a plethora of other options though for the price. I definitely wouldn’t be after him on a permanent deal but for a year he’s an option I suppose. Would rather see Dele come on in the #9.
