We spent over £20m each on

Sigurdsson, Tosun, Walcott, Schneiderlin, Gomes, Bolasie, Gbamin, Keane…

We’ve had the money. We chose to go with no plan. Guimaraes, Botman, excellent additions who have resale value.
My reference was to our situation now.

GK: Pope
CB: Botman
DM: Guimaraes

If they can bring in a CM and CF (DCL?) they could have a decent spine.

Your man Bruno is 6months away from spitting his toys out the pram and demanding a transfer.

I think that's 2 seasons away if theyve not strengthened substantially.

Whats happened with the Ekitike transfer @Nymzee ?

In for him in Jan...then been in talks for weeks and apparently cant close the deal with his agent?

Seems very peculiar.

Think he's probably decided he doesn't actually want Newcastle and hopes to use their interest to wake up other teams like PSG.

So they are selling next years income, to get it now ??

Looks like they are going to go big and gamble.

Could go either way.

It's clever business, only the repayments on the loan will be calculated as expenditure, not the full amount borrowed. This is simply short term budgeting.

It means they are keeping well within the bounds of FFP while they create a better income stream through improved sponsorship, merchandising and other forms of income, all of which will allow them to spend bigger in future years. They have some very clever people working for them.
