Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, 22C here too. Saw the clock round to 4.30 before dozing off. Woken up by the sound of rain pattering on next doors’ gazebo at 5.45. It rained for about 30 seconds out of practically nothing, hardly a cloud in the sky. Just got to get through the day, the heat will be gone tomorrow so say they say, do hope they are right. Enjoy your day and keep cool everyone ?

Morning guys its 22c here already very warm at this time.

Plenty of water for D out walking but we won't be out long in these temps blue, a toilet stop more like.

Just treat myself to a new mobile phone as mine is 7 years old, only got a sim free pay as you go type, samsung m22, I've had a samsung galaxy7 edge since 2015 so wanted to stick on a samsung.

Have a good day all.
I used to have a Samsung, when it needed replacing was persuaded by daughter to get an I-phone. Easier to synchronise FaceTime, photos, messages between us etc. mostly stuff I neither understood or used.lol I bought the phone, SIM only so am stuck with it until I decide to buy a new one, which won’t be for ages. Really miss my old Galaxy phone though.

Woke this morning to the sound of heavy rain on the skylights and now rumbling thunder in the distance. Heatwave?. What heatwave??.

My lad (14) started for the U17s tonight and more than held his own. Nervous beforehand and talked a lot about it but settled and did himself justice.

Hate watching him at that level though as it’s literally a boy against men.
Just proves that the Irish must be born insane. It isn't something you learn. I mean, you must be mad to even play that game, never mind go in against guys nearly twice your size. Could have been worse though mate. He could have taken up hurling. Now those guys are nuts?

You must be very proud though mate. Does he take after you?. Did you play in your youth?

A lot of similarities between Hurling and Gaelic and plenty play both.

I played Senior Reserves at 15 and then injury cut short my career too soon. It was a decent level yeah but not elite. I do still play recreationally with a team so all good.

Were you a sportsman in your youth Fred?

Very stressful hour spent trying to get tickets for Bruce Springsteen on a couple of pre sale websites. At one point I was 7111th in the queue! Anyway goal achieved. Villa Park here we come June 2023. Off to the cricket soon. Should be a good day.

Have you seen the, away kit? Not the best I've ever seen.....!!
Will be watching out for you in the crowd today Anje , I presume you will be the one sat next to the Universe Boss!

Been out and done mum's shopping - returned at 9 am and temp guage on the car showing 30 degrees already. It is overcast and ridiculously humid here.

Sat out for an hour and then the sun came out and it was hotter than anything I've ever felt before and I've been to Turkey in July , Greece , India and the Carribean. According to the barometer it is reading 37 dergees and that's indoors in the shade. Crazy.

So, just stay in and go on Anj watch at the cricket and feel envious of @Barnfred 55 and his storm. Supposed to take table tennis coaching tonight but think that needs to be cancelled.

Stay cool everyone.

Football. The proper variety ?. Not a great standard but suffered back problems in my early 20s which basically forced me to pack in.

At school I was also active in athletics and tennis.
