I get that too.

Lost to a set peice and a fluke. With better match fitness, those goals dont get conceded. Need a bit kore quality going forward, which we know already.
Lost to a set piece and a fluke?

Not that we were camped in our half for 85 minutes then unable to get out or string 3 passes together, in fact they should have scored another 2 or 3 just in the 1st half, hitting the post and a save from Pickford 1 on 1. We on the other hand didnt make their keeper have to pull off any meaningful save.

Second half it was too easy for them and they took their foot off the gas, we were dreadful. Out played and out thought, we made Arsenal look like prime Barcelona, with 15 minutes to go they were playing keep ball to Ole`s from the crowd. If you thought that was "unlucky" we have some big big problems.

Lets see what the rest of pre season brings but if Frank is going to go 5-2-3 every game I really couldnt care less if the guy is sacked and he would have only brought it on himself.

First pre season friendly, against a team that finished 5th 2 different teams in each half and people are slating the team like we just lost a crucial premier league game. It might not have been great but don’t think it’s time to press the panic button just yet

I think its probably more to do with it was nearly the carbon copy of what happened in the our last game against them, fresh start yet nothing has changed, we are exactly the same and may not be so lucky this season especially if we dont get the start we had last season, dont forget that kept us above the line for the majority of the season.

Yeah. Sharpness. Tarko adds more comfort and dominance in defence too especially on set pieces.

It's 100% who plays in the middle of the park.

More worried about not being linked to any CMs or DMs than anything.

Didn't even realise we were playing, let alone against Arsenal. Whats with this trend of playing good opponents in pre season ? Can we not go back to snotting Austrian minows 22-0 instead ?
Cos people moaned at us playing minnows or lower league sides as it wasn’t much of a test

Find it a bit mad that he’s sticking with 3-4-3 given how bad we look with a 2 man midfield. Chelsea pull it off but they have Kante and Kovacic. If you want to play wingbacks, it needs to be a 3-4-2-1 with the 2 lads behind the striker/one dropping deeper to help midfield out, like Spurs do. Our wingers barely offer any creativity so push them infield, pack the pitch and let the wingbacks overlap. That’s all based on what we saw last season but I’m surprised he’s not changed it.

We got battered by Utd just before the start of last season and still started well.

Fitness is massive at this stage of pre season and Arsenal had already played 2 games so we were clearly behind them.

Sacking Lanpard, or talk of sacking managers is not going to help.

He inherited a woeful team, and is working to make us better. Theres no point judging on our 1st pre season game, against top 4 opposition, who have their new signings on show.

Harry Winks walks into this team

You could have prime Vieira and Pirlo in there but if you are out numbered in every game they arent going to be affective....

By playing 5 at the back you are moving the line of 1st engagement from the middle 3rd of the pitch to your own defensive 3rd, absolutely negligent.

I only saw 2nd half and it was fairly even, arsenal done nothing much either so the first half must've been 85 minutes long.

Dele was sitting in front of the 2 first half so it was effectively a 3 in midfield

Yes a woeful team, I dont think it is as bad as most make out they are just used in the wrong system, that come back to the manager.

How do we get play well and pick up points using a back 4 and always lose with a 5, yet the 5 at the back is the way forward? He is absolutely desperate to turn us in to Chelsea, the sooner you wake up to that the better. The only difference they spend 100s of millions to get their system to work being that the formation is so limited, we dont have that luxury.

Lets see how it goes but I think you may see the same tub thumping, ego massaging Frank Lampard we saw last season but unfortunately tactically he is very very poor.

I think we were pretty awful with a back 4 as well last season mate.
