Transfer Rumour Morgan Gibbs-White

Have a Wolves supporting friend and he says MGW is a talented young player but often turns into blind alleys and gives the ball away too much. Wolves still want to keep him but he's behind other players in the quest for a first 11 spot. He also says that if you spend 40M on Dele then this guy is easily worth 25M. Final piece of gossip is that MGW can be very good. Played extremely well and ran the game against Spurs two/three years ago but he never really fitted in under Nuno who didn't want players giving the ball away as often as MGW did.

So that coupled with an excellent loan spell at Sheff Utd goes to show he has talent and can develop further. Looks like 30M would be the price and I have to laugh when folks on here say Gordon is worth more yet when another club has another guy of similar talent, we wouldn't pay their price.

If he isn't good enough for them then why would we take him.
It is not about being good enough.

The way Wolves play is not a great fit for Gibbs-White.

They have played 343 and 352 without offensive midfielders. Gibbs-White is not a winger and not a striker. And when Wolves have better wingers and better midfielders than Everton, it will be hard to get minutes out of position.

I expect Everton to play 3421 this season. With two "number tens" just behind Calvert-Lewin. Alli, Gordon, Gray and hopefully Gibbs-White compete for minutes. And with 5 subs they should all get minutes.

We didn’t spend £40m on Dele though mate.

So they can't find a place for him,so we should pay over the odds for him... genius.

Wolves is a special club. Where passport and agents decide who plays and not.

Where the agent for half the squad works as a consultant for the club and have a say for all transfers.
A sense of bitterness perhaps?
Fact is, they have come up from the Championship and have been probably the best team in the last decade to do so. They have left us in their wake and have a progressive transfer policy of recuriting younger players who increase in value. One of the reasons Thelwell is with us I would think.

That's the perception of the Wolves fan I know. Probably based on this:

Blind alleys you say. We've got some already thanks.

A couple of points mate:
1) We didnt pay 40m for Alli
2) Gordon is a lot younger than MGW and has already done a lot more than him at the top level, so that should be reflected in pricing.

We finished above them the season before last mate. I am not sure theyve left us in their wake!

1) As I said, the perception of a Wolves fan and if reports are to be believed, we might yet pay that for him.
2) Very arguable. You could say Gordon played in a team struggling in the Prem while MGW was playing in a team that finsihed 7th... or trying to. He had some very promising performances before the powers that be decided he wasn'tquite ready. I'd say Gordon is of the same ilk. He did well last season but has many weaknesses to his game that he needs to improve if he wants to be a top Prem. player. No difference in the two to me...other than the obvious bias some on here will have.

How many times have we finished above them since they came up?

I'm not sure mate. In the last 10 years, we have probably finished above them like 7 times I'd guess? Have they ever got more than 59 points in a league season? Or more than the 61 Koeman got?
