Whenever anyone asks this or something similar, Kanchelskis pops into my head immediately. Rooney mkI probably the most gifted, but Kanchelskis was electrifying and the difference he single-handedly made in games in terms of points won that season was unreal.

We underrate some of the others though, if Arteta and Pienaar were doing some of the stuff they did back then in this team we’d be going absolutely wild for it. They were both supreme ballers. In time we’ll realise how good Baines was as well.

Is this in jest? Baines was one of the best LBs in europe for a decent run of time. Except crazy dave i think 99% of us hold him in very high regard.
