Wembley was minus 30k seats and this was just after a pretty much 15 month of lockdowns . London Was far more swamped than Paris . I know of at least half a dozen who bunked in and about the same who paid well over the odds .

Because, like you, I know what they're like, I don't actually doubt that there was loads of fake tickets. I did doubt that there was ever 30-40k, but at least they have now clarified fully - after some struggles - that that's not what they meant.

UEFA lied, they blamed it on late fans. And doubled down on that until they came out with a different statement after the game.
I don't think there's any defence of that from a footballing authority. Especially one that is also being scrutinised because of the mess in Seville too.

Hate to break it to you, but that's an unverified photo. So it's not going to be used as 'evidence' any time soon.
It absolutely could be - and knowing that mob, probably is - a picture that someone took before they went to Paris to sell them.
But it could also be someone who printed out one fake ticket, that they could easily have made, and posted it to Twitter next to a stack of paper.
So playing devil's advocate, that ain't evidence of any sort that would stand up.
I've heard journalists saying that they did see and know of fans who bunked in and did not deny that they had. They said that the numbers being bandied around by the authorities were way off the mark and the response was also awful. Which it was.
It's 2022, it shouldn't be happening. And yes, that club need to sort their own house out first.
