ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Of course, but ultimately it's on the organisers and the authorities to ensure any event goes down without such scenes, and without loads of people - whether Liverpool fans or locals, which has been well documented - being able to break onto the concourse without tickets.

Ultimately there wasn't evidence of trouble like this in Kyiv or Madrid.
But again, no problems in the Madrid end. You have to ask why they claim they were locked out with legal tickets yet there were people sitting in the walkways of their seating because all their seating was occupied.

I put on here before the game.
My nephew was in the ground just after six , I asked him why.
Said to many pissed up fans with blag tickets outside.
French police were out in force and the checking of tickets would mean there was trouble before the game.
He did say some the French police had riot gear on at that stage, before the trouble, not after like some are saying.
Looks like he was spot on , and did the right thing.
I WhatsApp him the scenes outside , and in fairness to the fans he said it was daft the way they had parked the police vans as it made it very narrow.
As when he went trough you got checked for a ticket and searched
This was early so imagine near kick off time.
He got home ok no trouble at all said it was a mix of poor planning, police over reaction, but he said and he must be one of the only ones that admit it,
while a certain section of Liverpool fans think they can turn up without a ticket and get in anyway , and revel in it,
there will always be trouble.
Ask any liverpool fan at any final how many time he has found someone else sitting in his seat at a final.
It's part of there culture , there will be stories doing the rounds how they blagged there way to Paris and into the game, and how ot somehow fits into the kopite narrative of what makes a scouser.
Same as the FA cup final where they posted up loads of pictures of them stealing everything from the service stations.
We run in the pitch and get totally slaughtered by everyone and the media.

Feyenoord
roma
rangers
Frankfurt

all very well supported teams played in finals recently in smaller grounds with much worse ticket allocations (tirana 20k capacity ffs)

yet no talk of fakes or bunking in en masse
It’s quite astonishing how this never really happens to anyone elses fans at major events and finals each and every year?

I’m not saying there wasn’t mishandling by the police and authorities and some poor planning and logistics, but you can see from the tv shots inside the ground that the rs was full with the walkways choka, so it’s clear that lots of fake tickets were granted entry - any one arguing against that is deluding themselves.

How they media haven’t tore a strip off klopp for his “get to Paris without tickets”bullocks is beyond me, and he’s at it again with next seasons final, the arrogant disgrace of a human - he’s as much a cause of this as the authorities.
Perfect storm really. 1000,s of rs buying fake tickets and to steal the seats off genuine fans resulting in chaos at the gates. Local thugs intent on either bunking in with them or robbing them blind. A heavy handed, inept police presence which caused more panic. All in all a recipe for disaster. The vast majority of the blame goes to the thoughtless rs fans with fake/no tickets.
Great post mate, I mean it isn’t rocket science to work or what’s gone wrong here, and the authorities have to Shoulder some of the blame, but so do the rs blaggers who seem to be getting off Scott free?

Looks like all these French Somalian’s stayed away from the Madrid ultras but got stuck into the RS as well - very strange that?

Delaying the kick off has saved lives - no question.

Radio Merseyside phone in this morning full of whinging RS, as usual every else to blame but their own ticketless fans.
eufa officials must be praying hard that they don't get to the final next year, but no doubt they will.

It’s like any crowd control. It relies mostly on the crowd being well behaved. If it’s not then there’s no police force in the world who can control thousands of fans. Then limitations start being brought up but what could they do to stop the problem? Open the gates and let them all in? Delay the game even further and check every ticket for the genuine ones? Start the game and disperse whatever crowd was left? Looks like they went for option 3. As I said before there’s failure on all parties here but as usual Liverpool and their soviet style state media propaganda seem are trying to dodge any responsibility whatsoever and turn this once again into another woe is us story about how the most special fans in the world got unfairly targeted

If they took responsibility for their own behaviour and arrived with the correct tickets, on time, and we’ll behaved, they might find that these reoccurring police problems and uefa logistical issues may suddenly stop as well.
Should have completely emptied the liverpool fc end. then started the game. message loud and clear. get dangerous get booted out.
