Interesting words from Lampard after the game, he made a specific point about next season. Around the 5:30 mark on the video.

''We need to think 'How can the culture be even better?' I came in mid-season and there's things I've had to see and let go, there are things I want to approach going into next season that I'll be more forceful about. But at the same time I don't want to underplay what these players have done tonight''

Sounds like he wants to bin a load off. Bodes well.

He's a winner who has been surrounded by winners for rhe last 20 years. He knows what's needed to be the best. He won't accept mediocrity and the club is under his skin now and he wants to make us as successful as he can. His drive, passion and determination has always been front and centre with him. I hope we have a long and beautiful future together.

Culture refers to the people at the top of the club imo.

Looking at the table earlier we have more wins then Palace and same as Brighton and they are have supposed to have had incredible seasons.

We weren't able to grind out any draws when we were in horrific form over the winter. We always lost by the odd goal. If we had got 3 or 4 more draws we would have always been just ahead of the danger. Losing can be a habit and we found too many ways to lose.

Also we had the third toughest schedule of anyone in that table

I've not been this excited about a pre-season in a very long time. Carlo was a big name manager but never showed any real passion towards the cause. Professional but that was it. Frank has conducted himself in a way that you want to get behind him 100% and give him a real chance to make the necessary changes. He totally get's what it means to be an Evertonian and how long it's been for us to have anything to shout from the rooftops about. Last night changed that and we have to hope he can give us more next season. Maybe we will actually experience the elusive 'good times' in 2022/23. COYB
