Brentford can still jump a few places if they win on Sunday and that must be worth a few quid. Leeds have flattered to deceive, I’m keeping the faithSpot on.
We're done here this season.
Let's just see if Leeds AND Burnley can go past us.
Unfortunately, you can't forsee a defender making a horrific blunder. A more experienced head would've tried to get right side and accept that they might score. No way we lose today with 11v11.Yes, but why take the chance when you dont have to?
We did take that chance and got caught on a counter attack and the match turned on it.
Their second goal came from a corner. Sitting back at 1-0 doesn't guarantee anything especially with the defence we had available. I didn't think Brentford looked like scoring before the red card which was a brainless decision by the defender. I understand your point but from the way we were playing I didn't see the need to give the opposition the initiative and just sit back and hope the opposition don't scoreYes, but why take the chance when you dont have to?

I think he was undone by a big soft lad being clumsy. But Lampard should never have left him exposed in the first place. My worry is that Lampard is still not getting the balance between when to defend and when to attack right. I had some sympathy for him at Watford, but felt he erred too much on the side of caution. A point was still a point, however. Today, his mistake was to keep Gomes on the pitch after the sending off. As soon as we lost Branthwaite, I would have removed Gomes and brought on somebody who would give us more energy or somebody who would give us more solidity. Allan was on the bench as was Davies. Neither were used. Even Kenny would have given more energy.
Having said all of that, we have one more chance to get things right once and for all. A point is of little value to us. I'd keep it tight for an hour and then go for the win in a big way.
We were down to 10 men and only 1 specialist central defender after 15 minutes. How on earth did he throw caution to the wind? You constantly contradict yourself and your opinion changes after every game. We were finishing ahead of Southampton according to you the other day, now, apparently, we won't take another point. I suppose if we beat Palace, you will say that you knew we would beat them all along, but, you didn't want to jinx us. Mind you, your predictions are so bad, we are probably better off if you say we won't get another point. If we'd have been as cautious today after taking the lead we'd be safe now.
Nothing wrong with being cautious in this position, not when other teams trail us by points and have to go by us.
Way too cavalier Lampard there today.
Soon as that first goal went in we should have been right behind the ball again. We're not that good we can destroy a team like Brentford by a couple or three goals at this point.
IMO Lampard threw caution to the wind today when we had this game sewn up.
The damage had been done by then. The decision to drop back should have been made with 11 on the pitch and make Brentford work to get on terms.Their second goal came from a corner. I thought he would close up shop once we where down to 10. But it should have been done at half time 2-1 up. At least one extra body in midfield and Kenny right back.My worry is that Lampard is still not getting the balance between when to defend and when to attack right. Jesus wept. How hard is this to understand...I'm talking abut when we went one up, not when we were down to 10 men.We were down to 10 men and only 1 specialist central defender after 15 minutes. For what it's worth, I think we'll beat Palace, but, even if we don't. I don't think Leeds will beat Brentford away on the last day.
That doesn't make sense. We had someone sent off after 20 mins Dave, I don't think we're allowed to sub a new guy on for a red card ?
