I don’t think Lampard has been amazing, but I’ve been encouraged enough to think he should be left in place even if we go down. I like how he speaks at press conferences before and after games, he articulately calls out when we’ve been screwed over and doesn’t get overly grumpy like some managers. Another change of manager would add to the turmoil of what is already going to be a big summer, regardless of whether we’re relegated.

Big time? For big time I'd like to think we wouldn't be sat in the "welcome to the championship" seats. Eddie Howe improved the barcodes massively. We've dropped into the bottom 3.

It’s too simplistic to look at it that way. We have improved but sadly so have a fair few teams around us. The reason we weren’t in the bottom 3 before Lampard arrived is because of how downright horrendous Newcastle etc. were at the time.

Unfortunately for us it's as simplistic as the league table. We can hardly say we've improved massively as we stare down the barrel of relegation.

We had 4 points from 30 before he took over, were people expecting him to magically start winning? The team was in a massive tailspin.

What he has done is tried a variety of different things; formation changes, personnel, different approaches to games; more than what we witnessed under the fat kopite pig who stuck with his style.

We’ve been underdone in a lot of recent games by individual errors which could have led to an additional 5-6 points.

You two have gone from backing Benitez losing game after game, after game and us being 20th in form every week/month to now discussing replacing his far superior replacement.

Im struggling to think how to process this...

...its total madness.

If we stop up Im fine with Lampard staying on but in the event of relegation we'll need to be smart and appoint a manager whos a cut above that league to get us right back up.

Lampard shown at Derby that ultimately he isn't a cut above that league as he couldn't get them promoted.

Someone like Fonesca or even Nuno who I dont like would romp that league imo.

Unfortunately, the way you lambasted howe and Potter as awful possibilities and constantly used them as a beating stick for if we got rid of your man benitez, when they are now both top half managers, takes away from any points you make about managers.

Howe and Potterball are bang average dossers.

When one of them finishes 7th like the much laughed at Dyche has done then come back to me.

This is the critical thing for me.

He's trying to make it work with the players we have. Benitez stubbornly refused to do that.

Whatever happens, I think we should stick. We need some stability and a singular vision.

100%, knew every week how we’d setup under lard arse. Concede possession, sit deep, 4-2-3-1 counter attack to Gray.

Lampard has tried a variety of different things and I’d happily leave him to get on with it. If we go down I hope the fans send a message to that gobshite owner that we want him to remain
