Of course we would have been screaming for a red card, but, it's highly unlikely we would have got one. Regardless of the letter of the law, we see these tackles week after week and they usually evoke a yellow card or just a free kick and a caution for the offender. These matters are down to how the official interprets the rule book and he then weighs up the individual incident and makes his decision.
