Horse Racing

…..unsurprisingly, Galvin scratched from the National. I love this horse & I put him up about this time last year but his efforts this season have even been a surprise to me.

My suspicion is Galvin will be run next season to get his handicap mark down & might even turn up at the Festival XC before a tilt at the National, I know Elliott has the race in mind for him.

I did also suggest Enjoy Dallen @ 40-1 & Escaria Ten @ 33-1, both of which are now near the head of the market, hopefully I get a run for my money.

A mate of mine has a couple of horses. One of which, Kensington Art, ran today at Musselburgh. Fell at the third to last and unfortunately it was a fatal fall. He had close to 40 members up there in attendance. Can’t even begin to think how he’s feeling today. Sickening.
 
Free Fiver bet from bet365 any race at Doncaster this afternoon. Tangerines had no trouble with Lincoln in the play off final last season but I'm having trouble finding the winner of the Lincoln!

Maybe Rossa Ryans mount Ametist trained by William Haggas is the one. Ryan has already had an even money fav go in in the first. On another well fancied horse later. In the Lincoln Haggas has two others including the favourite so mmm. So as usual am not sure. After all I'm not @Eggs
 
….put An Tobar into your Cheltenham notebook for next year. Untraced but won its Point-to-Point in extremely impressive fashion, I understand it’s been expensively purchased and is being trained by Henry de Bromhead.

Likely target is a bit of an unknown but 20-1 offered by Hills yesterday for it to win any race was quickly snapped up and it’s now 12-1. I’ll let folk know if things become a bit clearer.
 

Will this do for the Aintree meeting? Or do we need another thread? Either way, I have nothing to offer mind.
Discorama E/W @33/1 in the National. That's about it.
 
…..my final juicy priced one for the National is Commodore, currently 50-1 NRNB.

Jumped brilliantly winning on his last run at Cheltenham in December. Venetia Williams knows the time of day in training her National runners & seems to have aimed this one at the race this year. Needs quite a few to come out but if he gets a run he’ll be carrying a featherweight (also entered in Topham next Friday).

Is it too early to say what race he will run in? down to 7-1 for any race but betfair got him at 33-1 for the supreme novice hurdle...

….it was smashed from 20-1 to 7-1 for any race within a few hours. Crazy.

It has 4 likely options, so it’s a matter of identifying the most likely;

Champion Bumper; if it doesn’t run & win a bumper in what’s left of this season it could be campaigned in Bumpers next season. De Bromhead isn’t one for Bumpers and the horse will be 6 next year so I wouldn’t think he’ll go this route.

Supreme; He won his Point-to-Point in great style over a distance of 3m & the Supreme is all about speed over 2m. Also, this looks the target for Facile Vega who looks like he could be special

Ballymore or Bartlett; The Ballymore is over 2m 4f and demands a mix of speed and stamina, I think this is the much more likely option than the Bartlett over 3m.

For what it’s worth, I got a bit of the 20-1 any race and have also had a little on him at 25-1 for the Ballymore with Bet365. If the vibes suggest he could go elsewhere you should be able to cash-out but that would be my best guess at the minute.

My horses need a tobar to drag them to the finishing line. Like that donkey in the Lincoln last Saturday. Plumb last ?
 
….interesting one for anybody attending on Thursday. Espion du Chenet in the Red Rum.

33-1 with Bet365, Irish trained but the trainer was raised on the Wirral. It might be a romantic entry just to have a runner but it won really well last time and must have an each-way shout at those odds.

Spoke to one of the owners of Kemboy earlier. He said the Aintree Bowl was ‘Plan A’ & 10-1 with Hills was too big, certainly good value each-way. The 10-1 has gone but it’s still 9-1 with 365. Not saying he’ll win but it’s a decent price, he reckons the 13/2 with Paddy Power is more realistic.
