ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

The City team of 17/18 was more exciting. Sterling and Sane on the flanks alongside Aguero, Silva and De Bruyne pulling the strings.

Teams just started sitting deep though to ruin it, so Pep changed it. It’s difficult to have entertainment and results. Even the Fergie and Wenger teams dropped far more points than Pep’s City.

Even Klopp’s Liverpool aren’t anything bf like they were in 17/18 in terms of explosive attacking play. Now they’re more about set pieces, penalties, and endless crossing of the ball into the box. It’s ‘entertaining’ as we want them to lose but apart from the odd Salah wonder goal they don’t play anything particularly entertaining.

08/09 United team with Rooney Ronaldo Tevez Berbatov were probably the best ‘attacking’ team I’ve ever seen. I’d also say that Pellegrini’s City team were also absolutely brilliant at times with Silva Aguero Nasri Toure playing some unbelievable football.

Invincibles probably the best team to put it all together.

United were swashbuckling, i hate United but they were fun exciting team at times, always rooted against them but you just had to admire their will to win until the final whistle, they could also have a nasty side to them as well and mix it physically when they had to as well.

I find Man City sterile, yeah they play at a high technical level, but all their goals all seem the same with cutbacks from the by line and it's controlled possession that games are a just a procession for them, they don't have any personality to them or characters, they are very efficient and get the job done with no fuss.

They are a fantastic side but far from exciting, the Fergie teams 94 to 97 99-01 and 07-09 teams were classic swashbuckling wing play teams of his and Wenger's team from 97 to 06 were brilliant as well.
That surprises me.

Excellent head patting of Utd now that they're not a direct rival of you. Your continued moaning of Man City goes to show how they've lived in your head rent free for a good few years.

That Salah goal against Norwich which is shortlisted for this months Goal of the Month on MOTD: massive 80 yard boot downfield by Allison to Salah who slots.

Anyone else and that's described as agricultural...but the Establishment Club scores that way and it's included as a Goal of the Month contender.

That lot have been route one since Gerrard demanded Rodgers to be route one 7/8 years ago...THAT is their style. Big hoof to Suarez/Salah.

Yeah I saw that goal had been pushed up for GOTM, it's like rule 1 straight out of the Gravy Lords playbook but because it's Herr Klopp and friends it makes GOTM

Norwich goalkeeper looked on the take in that game. The Mane goal is ridiculous, he could have just picked that up. His fake rush out and slip over for the Salah goal also looked suspect to me. At best it’s just abysmal abysmal goalkeeping, at worst it’s something else. Neither of them should have been in goal of the month.

...a collapse like that could also theoretically determine the title. It's a 3 point title race if Liverpool win their game in hand. If they won the title from their on GD that game will have been decisive.

The game City have against them at the Etihad is the insurance policy on the lead they now enjoy, I suppose.
