My god the league table, makes for scary reading right now! The results of the Newcastle and Watford games, will most likely decide our fate imo.

But we are in a relegation battle here, make no mistake about it. All we can do is hope that the players have the character desire and fight, to get themselves out of this mess.

Gomes just isn't the answer mate. I've been watching him a lot and he just doesn't have the physicality for this league, particularly away from home.
Don't you think I know that, I’ve been trying to get my point through to someone else that but he just doesn’t get it. If all our other midfielders are fit, tbh they rarely all are, Gomes I think stands a chance of playing, I keep hearing and I agree we don’t really do that great when we play with 2 in midfield, results show that. So if Lampard does decide to go with a 3, it’s brilliant if Doucoure,Allan,VDB,Alli etc are fit, if a couple of those are injured and we still go 3 in midfield who’s the next on the list? Gomes he’s been playing lately in a 2 as there isn’t much other options available to Lampard.
I see Gomes as a weak link in our side, but if because of injuries he has to play for us to continue playing a 3 in midfield I’d be happy to go with that, but under no circumstances do I want to see him playing in a 2 again. I hope you understand my view on this, as some people just can’t get it.

I’m past caring, In recent times things have just been a mess, in hindsight Ancelotti was a terrible appointment, he left us in the Lurch, then we landed up with Benitez (say no more). FFP hurts us some talk about we should have kept James, Imo he was gone when he was photoed on the plane (Ancelotti) was still here then. Moise Kean was another mess, the list goes on and on. Looks like it’s settled down a bit now, more sensible appointment, I'm still confident we will be ok, but it should never have come to this in the first place. But even if the worst happens I won’t shed a tear, I have more important things in life to worry about.

How am I reading them wrong lol
You’ve said in two posts Gomes is better in a 3.
You’re adding the caveat now that With injuries or needs must as you put it. But there’s never ever a scenario where Gomes needs to play if we have 2 other midfielders available.
@Fansince1988 don’t spit your dummy, because you’re a Gomes fan and 90% of the fan base know he’s crap.
You’re probably one of them fans who think Tom davies will come good or praise Keane after his one good game in 10

I hope we arent in the bottom three later tonight, if we are I dont see us getting out of it, I cant see us getting more points in the run in than Newcastle or Burnley and closing in on teams like Brentford and Leeds. Yes Brentford and Leeds are in bad form but we simply can not win away which means we are likely to lose at Burnley, Spurs, Watford, West Ham, Liverpool, Leicester and Arsenal.

So we are gambling our Premier League survival on home form and 8 home games which if we win all of them would give us 46 points, how close is that. How many do we think we will win from Leicester, Man City, Wolves, Newcastle, Man Utd, Palace, Chelsea and Brentford. I dont think we will beat City or Chelsea so that brings us to 40 points. If we dont beat Leicester, Man Utd and Wolves which could go either way that gives us 31 points......

Very scary times, hopefully Frank can find some consistent form at home and away from home but with these mentally weak players I dont think they are capable of winning a relegation fight because you need exactly that.... Fight!

Unfortunately Moshiri and Kenwrights mismanagement has come home to roost, I hope we dont go down and I`m sure many will be devastated like myself if we do.

Need to out point Burnley between now and end of season, forget every other scenario or team. It's as simple as that. We are well capable of doing it

Burnley are the type of team who on any given day could go to somewhere like Stamford Bridge and grind out a 1-0 win out of nowhere. We do not have an unexpected result in us. I don’t think we’ll finish above Burnley. We need to get past Brentford and/or Leeds and then maintain whatever gap that is.

Chelsea away and Arsenal at home Mike?

That’s a crazy thing to say. There’s at least 14 fixtures left for every team around us.

Arsenal at home is not the same thing at all, they’re inconsistent and can lose to anyone. You know the type of result I’m talking about, can you honestly see us ever getting 3 points from one of the top sides away from home with actual fans in the stadium?
