The Ericsson factor is their hope - it could spark an upturn in results if he hits form quickly. Even the emotion of his return to the game could boost them.
Sadly, I think the Ericsson signing will prove a poor one for both player and club. He really needed to go to a club with quality players around him to give him the chance to regain confidence in his physical condition.

Burnley will get out of this imo. Luckily for us I think Brentford look even worse than we do. They are going to be right in amongst it over the next few weeks.

I think we’ll finish above Brentford and Leeds but definitely below Newcastle and maybe Burnley too as Dyche seems to find a way to pull it off every season
We’re very lucky Norwich and Watford are as bad as they are

I know he’s better in a 3 than a 2. That’s obvious. But that doesn’t make the team better. Because if we have Allan and Doucoure, why would you play Gomes. I’d rather play Dele.

Gomes in a 2 is detrimental to the team, Gomes in a 3 doesn’t help us much either.
You can’t be reading my posts properly, I said if needs must, obviously if the rest are fit I wouldn’t play him. Anyway leave it there I can’t be bothered to keep talking about this, because he will play if we have injuries so talking about it is a waste of mine and your time.

Norwich, Watford, Brentford to go down ... our home form will save us, regardless of how many City put past us on the weekend.

Only hope that Moshiri really asks some questions of himself at the end of the season. He needs to step back from any footballing decisions. The appointment of Benitez, and the time it took to get rid of him, have threatened this club with relegation when it should be up the other end of the table.

Luckily we have players coming back to fitness for this second half of the season and soon enough might be able to put together a side resembling 90% of our strongest XI after another season with no consistency or cohesion, plagued with injuries and absences.

Gomes just isn't the answer mate. I've been watching him a lot and he just doesn't have the physicality for this league, particularly away from home.

I would be scouring the free agent market for a centre back who is not attached to a club. Could really do with an old fashioned, dogged leader back there. A bit like when we re signed stubbs after he left Sunderland. Not sure if that's allowed at this stage of the season though is it?

The registration window has closed so we can’t do that.

Game still is...

Newcastle, Wolves, Brentford, Palace at home and Watford away as must wins. That's 15 points.

United at home is an achievable. Chelsea at home is also a chance to claim a point. Extra 2 points.

Leicester away is also achievable for a result. 1 point.

RS, West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs away can go in the bin.

18 points is achievable. Takes us to 40.

Haven’t we got Leicester at home as well?
