"Interim".

A word now in vogue in the idiot world of Premier League football.

We have half a season in front of us. We dont want an 'interim', we want a permanent manager.

This lot have 3 weeks to find one before we fully roll into the second half of the season, so they better either appoint Roberto or get out there and bring one in. There is a lot of games to be played here and we dont want any apprentices learning on the job.

What is your honest opinion on Martinez second time around? Any different factors now that would alter the outcomes from his first stint?

Ferguson in till the end of the season. Prioritise getting a DoF by March, let him review the entire club for a month and then let him pick the manager in the summer. Ideally that’d be Potter/Rooney. No point going after Potter now because why would he? So best on waiting.

Also pointless making any decision before we have a DoF, if that is the route we choose to go down.

The whole interim works if you got under 8 games to go but we got 19 games left and need points. Also people say Rooney(managed 60 games) isn’t ready so we have Dunc(managed 4 games) till the end of the season… madness

We need a manager now.
Next season will be better off as a club if we still in the PL with Voldemort, Delph, Tosun gone.
As you say appointing an interim doesn’t mean we stay up

When roberto relegates us will you leave the forum? A silver lining if you must

We should have the team captain and fan representation within a steering committee to assess new candidates because clearly the divys are clueless for the last 5 appointments.

Do you want to get relegated?

He will have my support but it’s pathetic, as someone mention with such a amazing talented generation of Belgian player he didn’t achieve anything
Its not pathetic at all really.

He has been there since 2016 so that is 1 World Cup and 1 Euros. So 2 competitions. In that time they came 3rd in 2018 and got knocked out by eventual winners Italy in 2020 (or 21 whenever it was).

This is top level International football, teams don't just turn up and easily win stuff. Its also not THAT talented a side. They have some brilliant players, they also have a massive imbalance in available players.

Current odds on Martinez are very short indeed. Them lads don't usually get it too far wrong. Its looking like we might be getting Bob back.
By the sounds of it the Belgian FA aren’t keen to let him go before the World Cup. Might mean we have to go with someone else as it would be absolute madness to appoint a caretaker until after the WC.

Where’s this stonewall fact that Ferguson would get us relegated come from?

He’s an ex international that has had a lot of exposure to the environment of managing a Premier League club, under the likes of Carlo Ancelotti.

People with far worse backgrounds have had great managerial careers, and the bonus of it being Duncan Ferguson is a massive cherry on the top.

Atmosphere is invaluable and Ferguson would provide that in spades.

I'll be happy as long as the new manager is youngish with a modern feel for the game and bags of passion. Someone with a long term plan we can stick to for the next decade, please.

No Evertonian can be proud of or take any hope from what has happened with Benitez. He was the worst possible candidate and he has destabilised and dragged the club down with his constant power struggles against everybody. He wasn't the only problem though which is the dreadful Kenwright and the army of ex-Everton players that he has provided a home for!

Now in coaching positions, none of them has known anything other than failure and this has been allowed to fester throughout the heart of the club. Relegation must be avoided but a cohesive long term strategy must be enforced by winners and not cosy ex-pros!

What if there’s no one good enough we can get in the next 3 weeks? Wouldn’t you rather they way till the Summer to make the right appointment?

Season’s already gone and you’ve never feared relegation before so you can’t be fearing it now under an interim.

Lets be honest if we had Pep running the team could you imagine the dilemma any manager would face trying to figure out who to call on the board to get a decision on anything. That's the problem we have completely dysfunctional executive branch of the club.
