So when you have a PCR now and test positive they tell you if it's Delta or Omicron. Didn't know that. Thanks.

My doctor says that the positive test is 75% accurate but the negative is fine .

Yep. It appears that if you've had both and better still your booster too then you have to be very unlucky to be very ill with this horrible virus.

Have you had a test?

Not PCR just antigen. PCR tests are backed up here in Ireland now so I'll only go for one if I start showing symptoms. To be honest I have basically isolated for the last 18 months anyway so another few days won't make any difference now. Ironically enough I was just getting into the car to go for a pint on Monday afternoon when my wife came out and said you aren't going anywhere because xxxxxxx just tested positive

In the last 36 hours 6 people I know pretty well have tested positive.

Fortunately I've not been in contact with them but this new variant is everywhere.

My sister has that and emphysema, so she's isolating upstairs and the Niece in law is isolating in the spare room, what a palaver.

@jazzy I think you are right, I got a bit of luck for a change.

Hopefully we've got the less 'scary' version and the jabs will offer the protection we need.

It's frightening how quickly it spreads. I tested positive back end of August so I'm guessing it was delta. Double jabbed at that time. It was horrible. Felt quite ill, sweat pouring off me, no sense of smell, absolutely exhausted. Also other symptoms - let's just call them "stomach issues" that I never even knew were a symptom until Dr Google helped me out. It took weeks for the fatigue to go away. So glad I was vaccinated at that time because if that was how ill I felt with a vaccine I would have hated to have got it whilst unvaccinated.

None of the rest of the family tested positive and I've no idea how I caught it. The only places I go to are Tesco and Home Bargains!
